Shortening and crimping some big a## wires on a winch install

Putting in a SW Terra 35 and I’ve decided the crimp I’m looking at here isn’t something I can reproduce so I need to figure out who to take this wire to get the end put back on after I get it shortened to where I need it. Never having delt with wires this big I have no idea who I could go to just locally to get this done. What kind of (electrical?) business would deal with stuff like this?

yxz video clips only

After fumbling several times to show off the yxz to friends I thought it would be good to have a thread just of video clips for the new sxs. If you have any good ones please post them here so we can want what we can’t have even more so.

This is a good cockpit one with some info in the corner, mph, G-force etc.

rebuild or replace.

I recently bought an 05 660. It has 3,000 miles on it, and is in pretty rough shape.

Unfortunately it smokes like a freight train, and has a knock in it once it warms up. But it is complete with no missing parts. My thoughts were I would either rebuild and stroke it when I got home, or have it done for me while still on deployment. But then I ran across this today.

It is also an 05, with about the same miles on it. The engine runs great, but it is completely missing the front diff. has all the drive shafts and actuater, but the diff is gone.

I have about 1000 bucks in the grizzly, and I am sure that I can get that back out of it, and I can get the brute for 1500. I know the brutes have alot of problems on the earlier years. But there are just as many good stories as there are bad ones out there. AND I KNOW I WILL GET AN UNBIASED OPINION ON THIS SITE! So which one would you choose to have and fix?

My mechanical ability will allow me to do either one. My riding style I believe either one will suit. Mostly trails, in mountains, with mud, sometimes to much mud, and I will be using it for hunting and occasional property maintenance.

I do also still have my 2014 550, but that will be mostly for my wife on the weekends to enjoy.

whose is really better?

Hey guys hows it going, im away at work camp, and im working with a guy whose got the new honda rubicon, the black and red one with the difflock and what not, anyways, hes always saying that although my bike is nice, all the features that both of our bikes have his is better, he claims that his independent rear suspension is better on his rubicon then mine is on my grizzly, he claims his automatic system is better on his honda then mine is on my grizz, he says his diff lock and 4 wheel drive system is better, he tells me i made the wrong decision when choosing my bike and that i should have gone with the 500 rubicon

what do you all think? i know were all here cause we ride yamaha’s but did honda really nail all these features and produce a better machine?
Since were here at camp and we come from different sides of the country we cant really line our bikes up on our days off and compare, and i dont know anyone who has one of those rubicons personally at home, what do you guys think??? is he just talking trash?

YXZ game changing proof

The more I read, the more this thing blows my mind. It’s something we yamaha enthusiasts have been waiting for, and yamaha delivers, making rzr s and mavericks basically obselete.

Best quote from guy who rode in it:
"Out on the track, the Yamaha YXZ1000R stunned many of the dealers and press that was in attendance. After my ride in the machine, the only word that kept ringing in my head was "Immediate." As many of my readers are probably very versed in the specs, I will save my words for the explanation of what it feels like. The drive line is not hampered with belt drives, and in place of that is metal linkage and a foot actuated clutch. How this translates the power from the triple cylinder engine is something that I have never felt in a UTV before. Where the power in other models is very gradual and smooth, the power headed out to the wheels gets there with the efficiency of metal. The pro driver at the helm dropped the clutch and all of the power went to the wheels savagely and without delay. It was special."

YAMAHA! For me it’s respect that Yamaha reputation deserves to keep. This is proof they keep their mouth shut, don’t put out little gimmicks yearly, but watch an industry, what riders wants across the board, then deliver in a huge way. This thing STOCK keeps people who bought a popo yesterday and put 10k in mods to it, up at night.
