Need help, grizzly won’t start

Tried searching and came up with a few things but still can’t figure it out.
Here’s the way things are going:
1. 2009 550 eps Grizzly wouldn’t start, 12 was displayed in the lower left hand of the display. Loud clicking heard. Did some searching here and it said maybe battery. Called the yamaha shop near by he said confirmed and said start with a new battery (original one was still in)
2. New battery in, go to start and it’s still making the loud clicking. Except now the display doesn’t display 12 anymore. As I’m hitting the starter it’ll display either er_1 or just a 64.

Thoughts? I’d rather not take it to a dealer….

Made a Terrible Mistake!

As some of you may know, I recently purchased a ’16 Grizzly Camo EPS for hunting, ice fishing, light duty work and general trail riding. Since my purchase, I’ve been riding with some friends and on Saturday, I happened to ride with a guy who recently bought a new to him (I believe it was an ’09 – fuel injected) yfz450r.

The last sport machine I owned was a quadsport 230 and it’s been atleast 10 years since riding on/with sport quads. Needless to say ive been out of the sport quad loop for a while. So, my friend offered me to take it for a spin. What a terrible idea.

It took me as long as it takes a good rider to go from 1st to 3rd gear on a race quad to realize that I didn’t just want one but absolutely NEEDED one.

So two weeks after dropping 10k on a new grizzly, I hesitantly told my saint wife I needed a new 4wheeler. After some eye rolling and cute growling, she said something to the effect of "If you need too." (Maybe it has to do with us picking up her brand new, special order, 2016 4runner on Friday. I dont know.)

So now, I’m asking you gentlemen for a favor. I live in Upstate NY. I’m not opposed to driving 2-3 hours for a good deal. If anyone in said region, knows of, or happens to see one of these machines in your local yammy shops, please let me know! Leftovers (14 and up) would be preferred.

Thanks Guys!

Grizzly 700 or new Wolverine R spec?

Which would you choose and why?

I currently have an older Teryx 750, but prefer riding a quad (have an SP 500). I think that may partly be due to the rough ride of the Teryx and the driving position/seats. Thinking the Wolverine may change that.

Quads do seem more engaging to ride overall.

My son will be getting his first quad soon, so I’m thinking of either getting another quad for riding with him or a Wolverine.

Hello!!

Hello everyone, I just joined the forum. I’m new to the 4×4 ATV world. I have always had fast, sport bikes. Unfortunately, where I ride most has lots of water at the entrance. I got fed up with my Raptor. Most times when I go riding, I have to use beach noodles, a boogie board and some boat bumpers to float my raptor across the water. It’s a royal pain in the butt so I put my raptor up for sale last weekend. All of my friends have 4×4 quads so I have been looking into them for about a year. Long story short, I sold my Raptor 660 today and picked up a brand new Grizzly 700 Special Edition. I only drove it a few hundred yards so far, it still registers zero miles on it but I LOVE it!!! It has lots of pick up and looks awesome. I did a lot of research and decided to go with Yamaha. I’ve always been a fan. Anyway, I’m looking forward to riding it and gaining some knowledge from everyone here! Let me start by asking for advice on a rear rack back rest for my fiance to be comfy. Any suggestions? What mods are best for this bike? Is there any links to a PDF of the service manual? I look forward to chatting in the future!!

New Ride

After my Grizzly steering stem stripped out on my last ride and left me stranded. This has been a common occurrence on my Grizzly lately. So after I was towed home by a Honda again I went home and bitched (whined) to the wife about needing to spend more time in the garage to fix the wheeler again. She told me to go get a new wheeler something with a warranty. So I could just take it in to get it fixed. I have very little time anymore to work on my own things.

Not being really impressed with the new Grizzly I started looking at other brands. The Yamaha dealer out of town sells Yamaha, Polaris, and Arctic Cat. I found a 2015 Polaris Sportsman 850 SP for under $8,000. I know Polaris doesn’t have the best reputation, so I was able to get a 6 year extended warranty on it for another $600. Total out the door after all b.s fees where $8,650.00

I’m Keeping the Grizzly for mud riding only and using the Sportsman for trail use…for now.

Traded this in for it. To many bad drivers on the road these days for me to keep it. The dog in the picture stays.
