Flat towing damage

In the Yamaha ATV warranty Policy paragraph 3, item i, says "the warranty does not extend to damage due to flat towing. (see your dealer for explanation)". What is meant by this, is there a possibility of causing damage when or if you must tow a Yamaha atv out of the bush to the trailhead?. Are there speed or distance restrictions for towing a Yamaha? Thanks.

FINALLY…the 600 grizz is running!!!

Well folks, as the headline says i finally got the grzz going!!
There were many days when i just didn’t wanna look at it out of pure frustration at not getting anywhere it seemed.
I have posted many questions about the issues i was having and considered all the posters that tried to help out.
So here’s what happened…..
Although i am not mechanically inclined, i decided to attempt everything all on my own…and for the most part that worked out, originally there was an electrical issue that turned out to be the starter relay solenoid, then it still wouldn’t start and i had good spark.
SO next was onto the carb, which i took apart three times and cleaned it to what i thought was a good job given my lack of experience, and still it wouldn’t start.
After talking to a friends father he suggested that he clean the carb for me and we’d go from there!!
Well he said the carb was still very dirty, which meant i hadn’t done a very good job (guess i’ll learn that lesson the hard way (
We installed the carb and she seemed like she wanted to go but just wasn’t getting gas hmm…
So the friends father asked about the spark plug, i told him it was brand new…he suggested putting another one in just for kicks and PRESTO the grizz came to life almost immediately.
I was TOTALLY STOKED!!!!!
I was at the point where i thought i would just buy one of those chinese aftermarket carbs because i was convinced that it would solve my problem, but the carb on it is a Mikuni and i’m told that they are really good carbs and they last forever, so i’m glad i didn’t waste time or money on a new carb.
The other thing is that it had been suggested to me in earlier posts that i put a new plug in, well i had, but it would seem that either the plug was a dud or that while putting it in i may have inadvertently hit the plug and changed the gap on it, either way i think next time i will just try another plug regardless of whether the one in there was new or not!.
So now it’s time to clean her up and put it all back together so that i can test her out and see what else i can get my hands dirty with.

SO THANK YOU SO MUCH TO ALL THOSE WHO HAVE HELPED TO MAKE THIS WHOLE THING SUCH A GREAT LEARNING EXPERIENCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GC YOU GUYS ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!

Flashing low light

Went for a ride today and forgot the bike was in low and was going around 55 kmph and when I looked at the dash the low light was blinking and when I slacked off the throttle it stopped.is this normal and just a warning for going fast in low or is something wrong?

Fairlead for synthetic winch rope

Maybe I’m missing the obvious, but can someone tell me WHY synthetic winch rope requires an aluminum hawse fairlead? I can understand why you wouldn’t want to use a chewed up roller fairlead that got that way from a regular cable. All the rough spots would fray the rope. But if a roller fairlead has brand new and smooth rollers, why can that not be used with synthetic rope? And just cause the manufacturers say to use an aluminum hawse fairlead is not a technical reason why.

Just wondering

I certainly don’t claim to be the smartest guy out there but by no means am I stupid……………………The A.T.V. world just bewilders me! How can I buy a motor vehicle meant to be driven on roads with A/C and much better MPGs a ton more hp a sound system and a roof at or cheaper than the price point of some ATVs (and I’m sure I missed some amities!)…….Some producers claim to be engine manufacturers first and foremost yet still can’t, no, won’t produce an ATV with stupid power AND descent MPGs (don’t give me its just simple physics ’cause just look at some 4-stroke sleds they make atleast 100 hp and still get 20+ MPGs all the while bucking snow……….can you say friction?!LOL!……….most manufacturers have a motor-bike devision..no ..just saying!)
I am just saying we may not NEED big horsepower but we WANT it. If a manufacturer (ANY manufacturer!!) produced an ATV with a good working 4×4 system and a strong reliable efficient engine and decent ergos with storage at a reasonable price , I bet people would line up to give up their hard earned money for it!

2015/16 GC Cabin fever

We all know this happens every year. We post pics of snow, we argue about oil and shim mods. Someone has more snow then someone else, it’s colder there then it is here. People start having babies, some people try to make them. Either way, we all go crazy in some way when the temps dip down. So here is to us (and possibly our drinking problems) happy CABIN FEVER EVERYONE.
May the posts be many and marry
