New to Rene.

New to the Rene world but not this forum, wasn’t happy with my 800 Outty and just traded it in for an ’15 800 XXC Rene, can’t wait to get her out and take it through its paces, more comfortable already just from test driving it. On another note, anyone know if an HMF Performance exhaust from an ’15 Outty will fit on my new Rene?

Renegade maintenance

Hey everyone, I’m wanting to do fluids, filters, plugs and everything front to back on my 2010 renegade 800. I bought it used so I want to make sure I know what’s in there.

Is there a list of all the fluids, how much, parts needed to do this? Not sure if there is a thread I missed with this info. Do yall recommend I go to dealer on use a name brand from my local auto parts store for fluids and what not?

Secondly, I read about greasing my one way bearing? Bike has 800 miles and I’m not sure if it’s ever been done. The dealer did the maintenance up until I bought it recently buy not sure if that’s something they do or not.

Thanks

Ok.. Total make over going on.. Have some Q’s for opinions..

Ok.. As I’ve posted before, I’m installing solid motor mounts.. Finding out the hard way that pulling the motor is how it has to be done.. If not and anyone else has done it with out pulling the motor please advise me how..

Anyway, I changed my through shaft seal, #1 will the front axle spin separately from the rear axle?
#2 I believe the front through shaft is bent slightly, I spin it and it looks like a slightly bent pool stick when you roll it across a table. So do I need to replace it? If so how complicated is it?
#3 how much play should the rear pinion have? When I had the seal out, I was able to move the pinion slightly up and down and in and out.. Does the bearing need replaced? The front pinion has zero play, that’s why I asked..
#4 if I can’t get the motor out.. Would just replacing the top motor mount with a solid one do the trick? I ask because the oem mount was completely broke.. When I to the nut off all 3 bolts for the mounts, I could move the in every direction.. That a sign that they’re all bad?

I want to kind of over haul my bike and do it as right as I can so in the future I have less issues.. Also figured I would because it completely apart..
If there’s anything else I should check/replace please let me know..

Thanks

Renegade bogging / stalling after 2 hrs of riding.

Ok I bought this thing 5 months ago and I will say even with all the struggles I have had its still my favorite toy I have ever had. So when I bought my Renegade the first ride I went on it ran amazingly. The next ride we are riding and after about 2 hrs it starts bogging down after about 2 hours of riding but it would never die it would just idle, once you turned if off and turned it back on it would run for about 30 seconds then bog again. I initially thought it was just a loose ground but I tightened and greased the ground went on a ride that didn’t work. Long story short I figured out it was a bad fuel pump. I replaced that and cleaned the tank put new fuel in and she ran like a dream, for 3 rides that is. Now she is doing something very similar but also different..

After about 2 hrs or so she starts stalling, but now it does it when you let off the throttle, and try to get back on it. And it will not idle for very long it will just end up stalling it’s self out.. It’s not throwing any codes, when it’s running it runs better than ever. I guess the fuel pump could of gone bad again but that seems unlikely and when you turn the key and you can hear the pump prime it sounds normal. Anybody have any ideas on what this could be
It’s stating to make me sad that I cannot go on a ride without it having problems. Sorry that was a really long read, thanks for sticking it through. Here is a video of what she is doing. Thanks guys.
