Water in rear diff

Another question I need a little advice on. Changed all my fluids front to back. Rear diff had a little water at the bottom when I first opened the plug. I was putting the cv boot skid plate back on and see the breather expansion thing had a cut in it, looks like from the pressure washer. Should I replace it or are most people routing vent hoses up real high or what. Thanks for the help

What are options to delete top speed limiter?

I’m looking to delete my top speed limiter and want to know what all my options are if possible. 2012 Renegade 1,000 XXC.

I know of Mrrpm’s ECU reflash
TuneMonster

I know theres others. I had a different speed limiter delete box on mine that worked great, but I had to remove it now because it was driving my DPS crazy and it burned out my speed sensor.

Thanks in advance! :th_smiliethumbsup:

Speed limiter delete box screwed my DPS!

I installed a small module to eliminate the speed limiter. I can’t remember the name of the speed limiter delete box. Its just a plug in box that hooks between the speed sensor and speedometer, so it cuts the speed in half at 70mph.

Anyway to make a long story short, I installed this speed box when my 1,000 XXC was a few months old and it deleted the speed limiter just as I wanted it to do.
I had random intermittent Power Steering issues and just figured it was a software glitch. So I ended up taking it in for the DPS software update and it got much better. Shortly after, the DPS was on and off and finally died almost completely and the check engine light came on. I took it to the dealer expecting to get a $1,500 bill for replacing the power steering unit itself.

I got a call last week from the dealer saying the "speed sensor was throwing error codes". I figured the speed box was causing this, so I informed the dealer of the speed box being installed. He put new speed sensor in and the power steering still acted funny but the Speed señsor errors were still there. So he removed the speed box and all the error codes all went away and he rode it 15 miles and the DPS works perfectly now.

I can’t believe I ran this dam speed box all along while it screwed my DPS up. I’m curious if anyone else has this box, and if its causing issues with your DPS?

I’m hoping to pick the quad up later this week and test ride it to be SURE this really did fix it!
$200 is a lot better than a DPS replacement charge! 🙂

large tires?

Hey guys, just wondering if someone could answer a question for me, I have a 2011 renegade 800 xxc. It has stock size kenda executioners on it and Im not happy with than at all. They are pretty worn out so its time to buy new tires. I’m looking at 26×9 and 26×11-12’s duro power grips for my stock beadlocks. Will these tires fit without modifications or wheel spacers? The tie rod ends look real close to the front tires now so I figured I would ask before I made a purchase. Thanks in advance for any replys. :thumbsmilie:

Rhino axle install

Should there be any gap between dust cover and inner cv housing? It clicks in but doesn’t seem in all the way? How do I get it to seat right? There is a ton of threads about removal, can’t seem to find my problem on a install thread…

Absolutely crushed……Stolen 2015 Renegade

I haven’t been on here in awhile as I’ve been completely crushed about the theft of my 2015 1000xxc Gade. I had just returned from a four day trip to WV and someone must have seen us unloading and they broke in to my building and stole it the very day I got back.
I went to the "Mudbash" event at Busco beach this weekend hoping that I would see it there in some form, but no luck. More than likely it’s been stripped down and sold for parts or not even in the state.
I’m waiting on insurance to give me a final number on what they will cover. My home owners is pretty solid and looks like I may get replacement cost on the quad and then a decent amount on all the additions.
I don’t even know what I’m going to do next. I don’t feel like building another Renegade as the whole thing has me sick feeling just thinking about it.

Shift indicator issue, won’t start. 2010 Rene 800

I’ve searched, but couldn’t find what I was looking for. The indicator reads fine in all gears except park. It still says reverse. So of course it will not start. If I move it to neutral it will start fine. Anybody know why it is not reading park and allowing me to start it? Thanks for any and all opinions!!

Not a good day

G/F and I went for a ride coupe weeks ago. She pulled in front of me and slowed down, my left front hit her right rear, flipping the bike over and ending up upside down. Thankfully have full coverage, so took it to a dealer to have them check it out and fix it. I got a call Friday, and looks like it’s gonna get totaled. $4500 just in parts. Frame, steering stem/bars, right tie rod/CV shaft, both rear trailing arms, plastics, grab bar, brand new full Muzzy exhaust :th_smiliefrustrated and some other stuff I can’t remember. But what pisses me off, blue book on it is $6500-6900, depending what book you use. Machine is in excellent condition, not even 800 miles yet. I asked the insurance company about if it does get totaled, how will they come up with an amount to replace it. They said there is no blue book for ATVs, which is obviously BS, KBB and NADA. But he said they go by current market value. That would be so much better than the blue book, since I paid $8k for just about a year ago. Every 1000 ‘gade I see is well over that. I should hear from them early this week, already missed out on a mud race today, and end of the month is another good ride in Hancock NY. I miss it already…

But what’s weird is I was only doing bout 20 when it went over. I’m sure it’s the 800 pounds that did the damage, but damn, totaling it??? Riding the grizz just isn’t the same.

1000 XXC RPM – Muzzy Exh / Digituner

I have a 2012 XXC 1000 with 500 miles, running 25.5" Pitbull Growlers, stock clutch, Gates Kevlar belt w/200 miles on it, Muzzy dual slip-on, VFJ plug-n-play dobek and UNI air filter.

When I pin it, motor will jump to 7200 mph and then within 75 yards will fall off to 7050rpm and maintain that for 1/4 mile or so until rev limiter kicks in at 77mph. Bike runs fine without backfiring, bogging etc..wheelies at 15mph no problem.

I own a second 2012 1000 XXC with 500 miles on it (guest quad) that is bone stock. It pulls my Muzzy bike by 8 lengths up to 77mph even though the Muzzy bike sounds wayyyyy faster! My brother has a 2012 XXC 1000 and he smokes me by 8 lengths as well. We are both 175lbs.

Before Deadman chimes in about heavy tires, I swapped back to the stock Holeshots and race outcome was identical, which leads me to believe something isn’t right with my setup. Like I need less pin weight.

I don’t think 7050 is enough rpm, the other 2 bikes hit 7600rpm, what say the guru’s? What should typical RPM be when you are WOT? Should it be a constant RPM for the duration of the run? I haven’t jacked with John’s controller settings.
