First post….pls be gentle.
I have had a Honda TRX300 for almost 20 years and cannot fault it’s reliability and ruggedness. I only use the machine for general farm use but on steep slippery terrain with many high rocks. So, power and speed are not a consideration! Reliability is #1 for me!
I am now looking for a second quad and am considering an Outlander L. The increased ground clearance is a definite plus. (10.5" vs 7.2") and better wheel travel as well.
Any issues with the "belt" transmission on the Can am’s?
Any other comments?
I placed a similar post to this on the "Honda ATV" forum but only got die-hard Honda replies…maybe I’ll get the same here from Can-am fanatics. I would really like some genuine down to earth feedback re the Can-am as it would appear that they are not all that popular in Australia. In fact I have never ever seen one out in the field working.
Thanks.

Need some help identifying the correct PN for an engine hose that is cracking. See attached pic. This location is coming from the engine and the hose is cracking directly behind the exhaust. I discovered this removing my exhaust system, and as far as I know the hose is not leaking. I am having trouble finding the correct PN replacement at BRP’s site for this hose, and cannot find it my repair and service manual from Midwest. Any help putting me in right direction would be appreciated.
Hope I hear good things because it’s already ordered but waiting sucks! Looks nice I like the thermal coating comeswithquiet core and at 283.00 to my door seemed like a good price. G1 outlander 800. Any one have one on theirs or hear it first hand? How long do those decals last? I figure a week if I’m lucky
I have an 2013 Outty Max XTP with very low hours and mileage that I bought new. I really haven’t had the time to ride it much this year at all due to some health issues, etc. In any case, I jumped on it yesterday and went for a 15 mile ride to check out some local forest fires and on the way back I noticed that my RPM’s were running too high for the speed I was in. At first I thought perhaps it was stuck in 4WD but that still would not account for the RPM’s I was seeing…so I stopped and tried to shift the bike into neutral or park and I could not get it shift. After a LOT of yanking and rocking back and forth I finally got it pop into reverse where it got stuck and proceeded to start backing up on me (even at an idle). It was all I could do to get it back in neutral. I limped back home but now I cannot get the bike to shift hardly at all with it running. That being said, if I turn the ignition off, it shifts easily through all the shifting positions. Does anyone know what might be going on??? I take really good care of my equipment and I have NO idea what could be going on here. Thanks!!!

What are you using for rear cv shafts. My machine is a 2015 CAN-AM outlander 1000 XTP. I mud pit race with it so I’m looking for something stronger than stock. Thanks for the help.
