’16 1000 or 850?

Well. I may pull the trigger on a new Outty tomorrow. I will doing mixed use riding. I have read some about the heat on the 1000’s, and their "very touchy" throttle for the technical stuff. I’ve heard a few say that they missed their 800 for those reasons.

So what I want to know is:

1. Will I be burning my ankle or leg on the 1000?

2. Is the throttle too touchy for more the cynical rocky areas?

3. What exactly would I need to do to get either to not nose dive so much and actually handle well?

Any input on the new 850 from anybody who has one?

Grizzly Stowage Mod

Who all on here as done the grizzly storage mod on their G2 outlanders? What size tires are you running also? Thinking about doing it on mine and I have 29.5s and a puck lift. Just don’t want the tires to hit it. Thank you.

New tyres fitted- atv wobbles

Hey people,
Today i fitted 4 new maxxis ceros 26-09 26-12.
The bike wobbles like crazy after 30mph post balancing.

The front tires needed 6oz (around 180grams) each and they were balanced.
The rears needed 16oz(!) each and they couldn’t be balanced, the weights would not fit in the rim the shop told me.

They told me to wait a few miles for the tires to break in (but also not get my hopes high) or talk to the dealer that i purchased them from, for a refund or something.

Also i noticed they are a bit out of round so i inflated them to 30 psi and jacked up the bike for the night(although i don’t think that will change anything but you know).

Is it normal for radials to be so much out of balance?
If i could get new more balanced tires i would prefer it over lots of weights balancing beads etc.

Wheel spacers?

Just wondering what you guys think. Is 1.5 inch wheel spacer to much for the hubs and studs to handle on a outlander L 570? Wanting to get them for the wife to give her a wider stance. The L is a little tippy at speed.

And its a submarine

Just thought I’d share my latest experience.

I was doing water wheelies in a rock quarry lake by my house when the lake went from 3 feet deep to about 10 feet in an instant. You guessed it, down she went…without having time to turn of the engine….@#$$

I was able to hold on to it as it was sinking but that was short lived as I was going down with it. By the time my buddy came and pulled out his winch, my bike was at the bottom.I dove down and was able to attach the winch to the bumper…not the best end to a nice day.

I"m in the process of "drying" it out. I used seafoam in the engine and tranny, everything is filled with water, engine, tranny, diffs…

The engine doesn’t seem to have suffered any damage as of yet and I haven’t seen any signs of oil leakage from the seals but I have yet to take it on a good ride. Seriously hope all is good..

Anyway thought I’d share
