Have a pretty long trip planned for the end of this month and am gonna buy a belt to throw in the back as a spare. I’ve heard a few here get the commander belts for the 1000 as opposed to the stock outlander belts. Any advantage to this? Not interested in Gates or other brands as I think the BRP belts are good enough. Just wondering about getting a side by side belt instead.
my 2011 800 outlander is having an issue starting all the sudden, was fine last time rode it about month or two ago. but heres what it does, turn key on push start button, turns over fires start for a second and dies, does it a couple time then start fine. almost ilke needing a carb job, but obviously not carbonated. once started it runs and idles like normal. just every couple time go to start it and it fires like starting like normal but doesn’t stay running just turns over fires like its gonna run like normal but dies. any suggestions?
I think my right front CV Joint is shot an my 2008 outlander 650. I noticed it making a creaking sound when I sit on it and tried lubricating everything and this did nothing It has gotten really bad when I sit on it and when I am riding . Is there a way to confirm this is the CV Joint? if so, Can anyone tell me how difficult it is to change the front outer CV Joint? I am fairly mechanical and have decent tools, but no press or specialty tools. I have never changed a CV joint and want to make sure I am not getting in over my head.
Hello,i haven’t posted in a long time so this may lengthy, i hope i’m doing this right!! I need help, so any input is greatly appreciated. I have a 09 outlander 800 with out lift kit at all and i had 26" big horns on it when i got it and i sold them and purchased 27" efx moto tires and decided i didn’t want them and i really stepped up with 12" itp wheels with 28x10x12 and 28x12x12 silverback tires. I never had a problem with my axles popping out till i put the silverbacks on. I thought the first time the right rear came out it was a fluke type thing because my daughter was just riding it around the yard. Bought a new rear diff seal, pop the axle back in and the way i went…rode it for miles no problem in the mud, dirt and water…took it on a trip with a bunch if friends and i backed it off the trailer boom the rear right popped out again. Got it back home and i put new seals in the rear diff again and put new clips in the inner part of the axles, new rear bearings,sway/torsion bar bearings….and the way i went again..i prolly rode another 300-500 miles before i took the same trip with my friends i took the year prior when it broke taking it off the trailer. Now this time i rode 3 days in snow, mud and gravel roads when on the 3rd nite i was going through some snow and high sided it and that’s when "both" of the rear axles fell out again. I ride pretty hard at times now and then. I can’t figure it out at all. I had to towed back about 10 miles and i’m getting sick of it. Now i got it home all tore apart. I took the rear shocks off and found out they were shot!!! I ordered new shocks all the way around, new rear diff seals again, two new aftermarket axles for the rear completely assembled. Took the itp wheels and silverbacks off and ordered 27" Sedona rip saws on 14" MSO m12 diesels. I have yet to get it back together but what do you all think the problem is and am i doing the right thing??? Is it tires? Bad shocks? I just want this to end and i don’t have to worry about it!! One more question…do oem axles plunge in and out on both the inner and outter cv joints? The new one’s i ordered only plunge on the inner side so i called the company i purchased from and they told me the oem should only plunge on the inner CV. Now i’m not sure if these are aftermarket one’s i took out because i purchased the quad with 600 miles on it. The company told me as long as they are the same length as the oem’s only the inner cv needs to plunge. Sound rite? Any input is gonna help because i’m really getting irritated with the bike!!:th_smiliefrustrated:th_smiliepissed:
I bought my outlander from an Older man that never rode it. It has 400 miles and it looks brand new. It is an 08 i have done some research on here and found out that this is a common problem but my question is how to fix it. i put a hanger down in the gas tank and hooked it onto the float and lifted up and the fuel gauge went right to full. but if i fill the tank up the gauge will say its empty. why doesnt it work with fuel but will work with a hanger when being pulled up.

bike is an 08 outlander 800 xt. it has a programmer, hmf pipe, clutch kit, extreme belt, & 30 in silverbacks. problem is it runs about 3-4 hrs them it’ll lose power & wont pull. won’t even turn up enough to lock up clutch. after last ride it would run 40 min & have basically same issue. checked fuel pressure & at 45 min mark it would fluctuate from 20-45. changed fuel pump now it runs 3-4 hrs. wtf any ideas besides buying a real bike

I just install dual autotune and it is not working. On my pc you can see the idle and afr1 and 2 but the autotune light dont want to go on.
i configure the autotune with 2 sensors.
i did a target afr but when i send the map.
”this map has incompatible fuel tables for the device. this map uses multiple O2 sensors and requires fuel tables to be cylinder advanced.
firmware is 1.0.6.4
the autotune module is blinking 3 times for 3 shots and then stay on when i start the atv.
i am limited in english so maybe i dont understand everything……….
