Green light!!

Well the wife has finally given me the green light to mod out my 2014 outty 800! I plan on using the High Lifter front a-arms and stretched trailing arms, 2" spring spacers, new axles, and Dalton clutch kit. Im not sure if i want to run the OL2 or the mega mayhem, but dont think i will go above a 28" tire.

Any idea on what else to do or shouldnt do?

Thanks

2015 Outlander 800 cracked ring gear.

Just thought I would share this. I bought my outlander in March of this year. I don’t have much time to ride it. At this point it has 27 miles on it. I always thought it made a lot of driveline noise, but let it go since I have read that Can-Am’s are much noisier than other machines. Well last time I rode mine i couldn’t stand the howl of the rear end. Checked the fluid level and had to add almost 5 oz of gear oil. Took it to the dealer and found out the ring gear was full of spider cracks. They replaced the gear and this thing makes almost no driveline noise now. From day one i was uneasy with the amount of noise this thing made. Hopefully this is the last of these stupid issues.

Oil Filters

What are you all using for oil filters in your outty’s? OEM or something else?

Price for the OEM filter seems ridiculous (as with most parts) so wondering if there’s a better priced alternative that peforms as well.

Anyone know the part numbers for alternatives?

Also wondering I see the oem oil change kit comes with an o ring? Assume this is for th eoil filter but is it required?

I know I probably took a beating on the price but…

I did pull the trigger on the 2010 Outlander 500MAX XT. 253 miles, 82 hours.
I talked him down to $6500. We did look at a 2012 model, but it had 1200 hard miles on it and they originally had it listed at $7699. He had dropped it to $7299, but all I could talk him down to was $7000 and it was beat up. Scuff marks all over it and the brakes chattered when you used either front or rear. He said that was "normal" for that year, but my wife didn’t think much of the explanation.

The 2010 is like new–we took it for a spin this morning. He wouldn’t come down more on the price, but I’m still happy with it. Hopefully should pick it up before the holiday weekend next week. I decided to keep the Honda Rancher–trade in value was ridiculous. We’ll keep it and plow with it or use it for a 2nd wheeler.

I’m really happy to finally own a Can-Am. :yahoo:

Pipe lift problem

I have read every pipe lift thread I can find and haven’t found the answer I need.

Guys using the cam locks. What is the thickness of the walls of the fitting? I have a few I got from work and some are thicker than others. I think some are aluminum and they have a thinner thickness and then some are maybe stainless and pretty thick.

We’re yours thin or thick?
