Sportsman 800 Tire Options

Hey everyone, first post here.

I’ve got a 2014 Sportsman 800. I’m looking to get a new set of tires before the spring. Our riding is in the mountains in Western MD which primarily consists of gravel roads and dirt, but also with a lot of rocks and mud. Looking to see the favorite/ preferred tire everyone is using for this type of riding nowadays. Last time I bought tires was for my 2007 King Quad which were Mudlite XTR’s. Any opinions are greatly appreciated!

A bit of information

New to the site and wanted to share some information on new tires and wheels that I put on A few weeks ago. Hopefully to help answer some questions if anybody chooses to go this route on a sportsman 570. I have a 2015 Sportsman 570 (base) that I removed the stock steel wheels and Carlisle AT 489’s. I upgraded to ITP SS212 wheels with 4+3 offset and Maxxis Zilla tires, no lift, wheel spacers or clutch. I went from stock front tires 25×8-12 and rear tires 25×10-12, I went up 2” and 1” wider Maxxis Zilla front 27×9-12 and rear 27×11-12. I have no rubbing and the tires and wheels fit good fit. Here is a little information on the difference in weight / width and ground clearance.

Carlisle AT489 front tire weight on stock wheel 23 lbs
Carlisle AT489 rear tire weight on stock wheel 29 lbs

Maxxis zilla front tire weight on ITP SS212 30 lbs
Maxxis zilla rear tire weight on ITP SS212 34 lbs

Both of these weights were done with 5 pounds of air pressure.

For the people that ride on trails of 50” you’ll be glad to know, you should still fit Front width is 49-3/4” and rear width is 50-1/16”.

Ground clearance front 11-3/4”
Ground clearance rear 13-1/4”

Polaris says in the owners manual that the stock ground clearance is 11” I’m not exactly sure where they measure from. My measurements are center of the arms on the front and rear tires. Hope this helps.

27/11/12

Hi everyone! new to this site. I need a little help! I have a stock 2013 800 EFI. my wife got me a set of mega mayhems 27/11/12 for cristmas. I was just trying to figure out what I need to do to get them on. new rims? off sets? thanks!

4+3 Offset question

Hey guys,
I am on mobile., so first off apologies, as I’m sure this question has been asked before,

I have a 2011 Sportsman 500 HO, currently shopping for a new set of wheels and tires for her. I do mostly trail riding, with hauling wood out of the woods a common task for the sportsman. Thinking for tires I am going to go with Bearclaws. So…. With a 4+3 offset on a set of 12" ITP SS212 will that have a factory stance, or widen the stance by a few inches? I also don’t have EPS, I don’t want it to effect handling too bad, so figured stick with the 12" wheels.

will they fit

I have a 2016 Sportsman Highlifter 850, trying to see if 32.5 OL2s would fit without having to lift it. Anyone have any experience with this or see it or know someone that has this size on a 850?
