Broken XP Rim

I just had a rock break the inside of my right rear rim… again ! :bowl2:
This is the 2nd time I’ve had a rock get caught up on the inside of my rim and punch a hole through it. Looks like the rock gets pinched between the caliper and rim and the rim looses.
The first time it happened last year I was going through a small water/mud hole and a small rock (about 3") got pinched between the caliper and rim and actually locked the wheel up as it punched a hole in the rim.
On Saturday I was riding down a gravel part of a trail (large gravel – 3′ – 4" rocks) and again a rock got caught up in the wheel and tore through the inside of the rim…. again the right rear.
The 1st time I thought it was just a fluke… now that it’s happened again I’m thinking it may be associated to my rear A-arm guards. The guards protect the a-arms and CV boot very well but I think they affect the clearance inside the rim…. any thoughts?
Anyone else have this happen to them? if so do you have rear a-arm guards?
This is getting very expensive so I’m thinking of just removing the rear a-arm guards and taking my chances there.

Aluminum ofset wheels

I have a 07 sportsman x2 and it came with mudlight 26x9x12 on the front and the slightly rub the tie rod boots and had made a hole in them and dirt got in them and trashed them . I put new tie rods on it and was going to do spacers but was wondering if there is a aftermarket wheel that would offset them all out a 1" or 2" to gain clearance and stability. Plus i am not a fan of these boring steel wheels.

Tires? Best for my needs?

Hello,

I am down to two tire picks (Kenda K299 & K587). I have a 2015 Sportsman 570 EPS. I am looking for a tire for the following things:

1. Trail riding, hard packed, some mud, some steep hills. Snow in the winter.
2. Plowing my drive way, not commercial. I picked up the plow kit when I purchased it.
3. Ripping around town, cause we have these alleys that flood out nicely when it rains in Northern North Dakota.

So, I can’t find a head to head review of the two. I’ve liked the Kenda K299 since I first saw it. I am not 100% how much better the K587’s are.

I am not looking to go too much over stock in way of size. I am completely willing to mount the new tires on the stock rims.

Thanks for your input. If the rain stops, they will open the trails this weekend.. fingers crossed 🙂

Cheers,
Mav

Zilla fitment

Looking to put 28×11-14 28×9-14 or 30×11-14, 30×9-14 Zillas on my 14 850 xp le. Will these fit on my stock wheels without rubbing? If I can find 2 front rims I’d like to run 9" wide all around but not having any luck. So I’m worried if the 11" wides will rub on the back. Thanks
