Squeaky squeaky brakes!

Got the outlander L 500..It’s not even a year old, got it in July. ..I’ve ridden it quite a bit but didn’t expect that the pads would be worn already! ? They squeak like hell when they’re dry, but it seems alright when they’re wet. …anyone think they need replacing? If so, would that be covered under my warrantee, or do i need to eat the cost and replace them myself?

an idea for custom snorkel

I just wanted throw an idea of there for anyone that wants to make their own custom snorkel…i was thinking to myself, there’s got to be a better way to make your own snorkel without having to but this elbow and that elbow with this reducer and whatnot. ..thought there had to be a way to bend up your own pvc..this is what i found. ..i will definitely be doing this, I’ll post more when i take this project on. ….

Help! ! cvt cover screw broken

So I did a clutch kit install on my 2015 outlander L, and when i Re intalled the cvt cover (following the torque specs in the service manual) low and behold , i snapped the screw. ..any one know if i can get a generic screw in stainless that i can use in place of it. ..btw i live in Canada and shipping one oem screw to Canada would cost me almost thirty bucks! Can you use a regular M6 X 30.5 screw and just add a rubber washer to it, or does it have to be the oem screw to function correctly? Also, if you can, where( in Canada)can i order it from or buy it? Thanks in advance

Parts for water pump seal replacement

Does anyone know where a guy can purchase the correct tools for redoing the water pump rotary seal ? Like the rotary seal pusher plate etc.. possibly through can am I would assume but I’m not sure.

I think it’s time to make an updated video on how to do this

Changing Gear oil

Thought I would share something I did today when changing the gear oil on my ATV. If you have ever done it, you know it makes a real mess, running down the frame etc… Anyway, I thought a small funnel would be nice if you could fit it in the cramped space and still get you drain plug out. I started looking around and thought why not use the top of a water bottle cut short and jammed in, and it worked like a champ (not one drop of gear oil on the frame). :th_smiliedance: I cut the top about 2 or 3"s and like I said above just jammed it in, kinda hard to see it the 2nd picture.
It should work for changing the oil also, but I had already changed mine so I didn’t get to try it. But it won’t work so well for the diff’s.

Pipe wrap question

I’m thinking about wraping my pipes while I have my exhaust out but would like to know a couple of things first.

1) does it possibly void your engine warranty ?
2) does it make your engine run hotter ?

Basically are there any negatives to wraping your pipes ?

Thanks

Valve clearance question on 2015 1000 outy

I’ve always adjusted my own valves and was wondering if the valve clearance on the 2015 outlander xmr 1000 is the same .004 intake and .006 exhaust valve clearance. Also I’ve never torqed the nuts down but rather tightened them ( just snug ) is there a torque spec for them? Thanks :th_smiliewavey:

Winch Questions 3500 or 4500?

So I have been doing some research on which winch to purchase. I have always had Warn Winches in the past and had pretty good luck with them, but after reading the comments in other threads about all the issues that everyone is having with the warn and looking at the options I am leaning towards the SuperWinch.

Q1. Do you guys think that the SuperWinch is a good choice?

Q2. They have the 4500lbs on sale on the SuperWinch website for a lot less than the 3500lbs winch….not sure why but my question is has anyone used the 4500lbs winch on their ATV??

I plan on building a custom front bumper for my Renegade that the winch will mount to so I think I can accommodate the size difference. My biggest concern was the increased amp draw, it is only 2 amps difference but I was still curious if there was something else that I was missing?
