Engine overheated? What temp should an 2011, 800 ranger run at normal operating temp.?
This Ranger has a switch to operate the cooling fan. It is labeled "Fan Override" I have moved this switch from on to off and see no difference in fan operation. Anybody know what it does?
Engine after warmed up to operating temp and then driven for say 15 minuet’s and turned off and let set for 5 minuets will be hard to start. I can assist the hot start by holding down the accelerator pedal just off idle.

I have a 455 diesel and I had my fan bypassed and I was riding and I went through a mud hole and got water on the fan motor well it messed it up like its burnt up my question is I’m looking to replace it but is there a fan that will fit the existing hole the way it’s mounted is the Electric motor is mounted onto the frame not onto the radiator any help would be appreciated thanks
My 2001 sportsman 500 was missing the foam seal when I bought it, I ordered
a new one but cant find any info on how it is to be installed. If any member has a pic or link on the install I would appreciate it. Thanks Dave
what are the signs that a fuel pump is getting weak? I know it runs off the vacuum of the engine, when my tank gets to about 1/3 it acts like it’s out of gas. even on reserve it won’t run without using the choke off and on. you can fill it up and it will start after you use the choke and crank it a while. almost like it’s just using gravity to flow it. would appreciate any help you can give.
I have 03 Sportsman 700 that leaks oil between the cylinder and the crankcase. I’m guessing it’s the base gasket. Can I change this with the block still in the bike? Or do I need to remove it? Any advise?
Looking for some help my 11 500ho battery was bad while using the winch the Battery box light came on. Checked Battery needed replacing so I replaced it but battery light still came on found it was overcharging then it was under charging, kept changing and then stopped charging so I replaced voltage/ecm regulator still have the same problem and the battery goes dead after 3 or 4 days WTF! The new Regulator is still overcharging so I stopped using the machine as I don’t want to wreck the new regulator (shows like 17 volts)currently cleaning all grounds and plan on putting in a ground wire on the Regulator. Any ideas why it’s doing this? second what would drain the battery down when the machine is off? Never had any issues with the machine before this, thought maybe I fried regulator using the winch with a bad battery installed. Then a new battery and volt regulator light still comes and goes so far when it comes on and I check the battery it shows 17 volts again, everything in the pod works as it should. My local ATV mechanic says it can’t be the Stator as they work or don’t I don’t know what else to look for any help would be appreciated as the snow is coming and I need to be able to plow with it He…lp!!!! I have heard some others that 11 sportsman 500ho’s that go into overcharge when reving high but I am not reving high at all when it starts.
I have a 08 Sportsman 500 HO. My dash cluster seems to be out but I want to test it so I ordered a manual for it. I ordered the right one but the 16 pin wiring info doesn’t match up with my atv wiring. Anyone have this trouble? Thanks, Neil
I have a 2014 570 with only about 100 miles on it. Yesterday I started it and it wouldn’t stay running at idle, would stall. Ran it a bit and check engine light came on and power steering light blinked a few times. Also was saying OV and charging at 17-18 volts? Ran it in the garage and today I started it and still get light and threw code 168 – 3 for overcharging. Wiggles some wires and everything was tight. Now I get nothing when I turn the key on? Like the battery is completely disconnected? have 12.2v in the battery using multi-meter, what could be my problem?? Any advice would be greatly appreciated, dealer said there are 3 weeks out to look at it
