2007 sportsman 700 twin

Hey Everyone!
Going to look at an 07 sportsman 700 twin efi with 29 hrs and 135 miles on it. I spoke to the owner on the phone and he’s the original owner. He said that he only would ride it a little in the summer and it was always garaged and there’s no issues at all with it. Bone stock and there’s nothing on it (no winch or any accessories). He’s asking $4,400 which seems on the high side to me. If all is good with it, what would be a reasonable price to offer? I currently have a 2000 sportsman 500 non ho, so is there anything I should know about the 700 twin?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

A DIFFERENT 570SP vs 850SP QUESTION

Hey all,

New guy here. First post.
I hope this isn’t too redundant. I just read another thread about someone wanting to purchase either the Sportsman 570SP vs 850SP. I hope I don’t cause any more strife and brutality.

Anyways, I was looking at both the 2015 and 2016 570SP. They are trying to close out the 2015’s, so they have incentives to buy them (Although one of the incentives is 3.9% financing, which, as it turns out, I probably won’t need).
For the sake of comparison, the bare bones price on the 2015 is about 1k less than the 2016. (I will add bumpers, racks, 3500lb winch and plow to either one)

What I wanted to know from you guys….(that is before I read the other post, but I will get to that), is whether or not the 2016 was worth an additional $800, and if the "upgrades" for the newer model year would benefit me. (Softer rear suspension is supposed to be one of the improvements for 2016)

After reading one of the other posts, I am thinking that I should be considering the 850 instead. I’m 6’2", about 250. I am pretty much just a cross country rider, but one of the main things that I like to do is to drive over stuff…slowly…but I need a bit of torque to get my lard ass up some of the steeper hills and rocks.
I have owned a Honda Rancher, and a Yamaha Wolverine (mostly my kids rode this one) in the past. Both of these were good machines, but not well suited to what I needed.
I liked the looks of the Polaris 570 SP…and since it has a low range and awesome ground clearance, I figured that it would probably work rather well for me. I actually had envisioned something in the 650/700 range before I walked into the dealer’s and found out that it didn’t exist in the Polaris lineup.

I’m not bent on Polaris either, but there are a couple things that I do like about that brand. They have higher ground clearance than alot of others…certainly the Honda. I really liked the automotive style paint as opposed to colored plastic, and the price seems good. 14" aluminum wheels stock on that machine helped with the bad ass look. My boss has an older Polaris, and I have ridden it a few times although I didn’t like it as much as my Honda (EFI, IRS, and I DID like having gears as opposed to the Variable Speed Transmission), he tells me that his machine has been trouble free.

Because I wasn’t confused enough, I went to look at Can Ams the other day. These machines also had the ground clearance, and aluminum wheels. The salesman was pushing me into a 2up, and I think I like them, but I don’t like being pushed…so I had to back off a bit.

So I want to know what you guys think. Right now I seem to be all over the map. I wasn’t even planning on buying one until spring, but I thought that coming into winter there may be deals to be had.

Well, it has stopped raining here for the moment. I’m headed to the dealers’ to look a little more closely at the 850’s.

Sorry for the long post. Thanks in advance!

2015 POLARIS SPORTSMAN TOURING 850 – Price?

Looking to make my first ATV purchase. Not sure what I should be looking at out the door price for a year end 2015 850 touring. I checked a local dealer and they weren’t willing to play ball at all. Quoting me at over $1100 out the door and not willing to wiggle. Considering I have seen listings in the 9,000 region online within reasonable driving distance, I’m not sure what to make of MSRP vs out the door price. Does anyone have any input or willing to state what they paid for theirs? Located in Pennsylvania.

Talk me out of a 2015 Foreman 500

Stopped by the local Honda dealer the other day, they’ve got some decent promotions on the 2015 Foremans now that the 2016’s are starting to arrive. They look even better in person than in pictures.

My only machine I own right now is a Honda, but I’m not brand loyal per say. However, If I do buy a new machine, I would prefer a solid rear axle design and a manual transmission. I’ve spent time on IRS, CVT drive quads, and I still think I prefer the old fashioned technology.

I was wondering if anyone on the forum here owned one and wanted to give an honest review of it. I’d like to know how it handles, what kind of top speed it’s capable of, and what kind of issues, if any, seem common with it.
I know it’s geared fairly low for work, and it’s a utility, not a sport ATV, but I want something that can do a half decent job of keeping up in the trails while also being able to handle a plow or tow a trailer. I’d be dissapointed if it couldn’t run at least in the low 50’s, hell, my 300 can do that. Doesn’t seem to be much info online about the Foreman, it’s all Rubicon Rubicon Rubicon, so I’d like to get an idea of what they’re like. Thanks!

2009 Sportsman 850 XP SE

Hi all,

Any thoughts on a 2009 Sportsman 850 XP SE (stealth black). Comes loaded with bumpers, hand and thumb warmers, winch, windshield, hand guards, front and rear cargo boxes and speakers. Painted aluminum wheels wrapped in 27" zillas. Bike is in great shape.

Machine has roughly 3200km on it. Asking price is $5000 (CND).

I currently have a 2004 700 Sportsman that has kept me happy for the last 10+ years and I’m looking for a second machine.

Let me know what you think.

Cheers,

Rick

Brand New early 2000s Rincon

I have an opportunity to purchase a brand new early 2000s Rincon. Since I’m not sure on the exact year yet, I don’t know if it is a 650 or 680. It was purchased new and stored away until now, and apparently it still has all the tags on it.
I’m interested in buying this machine with zero miles but I’m a little worried that it would be more of a headache because it hasn’t been run in 10+years. I know that I would have to change out all the fluids for sure. What problems could I be running into? I wasn’t sure if I have to worry about all the rubber and gaskets.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

2009 Polaris sportsman 500 efi HO price?

Saw an ad for a sportsman 500 efi HO for $3800. 115 hours with 650 miles on it and in very good shape. The man is 70 years old and only rode it on his farm. Never sunk or dogged. Fuel injected and serviced regularly. Just got serviced recently. I was wondering was this a good deal because I don’t know how much they’re worth. Thanks.
