Is Mobil 5W20 ok in my 14 sp800 transmission? I know some guys use it with machine that have a separate rear diff. Is it ok since my machine has a transmission combined with a rear diff? Or am I misunderstanding this?

Hello, I purchased a 2001 Sportsman 400 recently and I would like to change the fluids on the machine. I didn’t get a manual with the machine so are these fluids okay to use with this machine? If not, please let me know what else I could use. The closest Polaris dealer is about 50 miles away so I prefer not to travel that far. Thanks
Polaris Engine: Mobil 1 Synthetic 0W40 – 2qt/1.9 Liters
Transmission: Mobil 1 Synthetic 5W20 – 37oz/1.1 Liters
Front Differential: Mobile 1 Synthetic ATF – 9.3oz/275 ml
Rear Differential: Any or Mobil 1 Gear Oil 75W90 – 7.1oz/ 210mlris dealer near by.
Went to clean my air filter and found that it was beyond cleaning. I didn’t have one so I was going to move the bike out side but found that without the air filter it will barely run at all. Is this normal? It is a 2003 Magnum 330 2wd.
Im looking to change my oil using a vacuum pump. I have a 2011 sportsman 850 touring.
For those that already use a pump to change your oil:
How long does the tubing have to be to make it through the dipstick hole and get at the oil?
Reason I ask is that I see a pump for sale locally, but the tubing is only 12inches long??! seems like that might be kind of short.
People post from time to time what are the best fluids to use in our machines. Some people reply that you need to use the Polaris fluid for the front diff and tranny because if you don’t it causes the front diff not to engage right and the motor oil will not protect the internals of the tranny. The myth that you have to use these certain fluids is just what it is and that is a myth. The Polaris tranny has not changed much at all over the years and for years plain old dino oil was the Polaris fluid of choice. The front diff has changed with the addition of ADC and moving the hubs all to one piece in the diff. Polaris seems to change their fluids more than a woman changes her hair and who knows for what reason they do it. I think they do it just to try and get the public to believe that their fluids are the only thing that will work or your machine will not operate properly. I have put all these miles on my machines from Moab, Hatfield McCoy to the Paiute Trail and not one single problem from running these fluids. Here is my fluid of choice for my 2006 X2, 2009 XP and my 2014 570. I am not telling anybody to run these fluids I am just pointing out that these fluids have worked like a charm in the tons of miles I have put on my machines. Bob I know your reading this and smiling.:veryhappy::veryhappy:
Motor-Mobile 1 0W40 my fluid of choice. I have ran Castrol 0W40 or 5W50 when Wal Mart is out of 0W40. I have Royal Purple 5W40 in the 570 now just to try something different.
Tranny-5W20 motor oil of any brand
Front diff-Mobile 1 Synthetic ATF
Rear diff on XP-any brand of gear oil 75W90
Anti freeze-any brand of 50/50 pre mix
I stick to the good brands when it comes to the motor and front diff but when it comes to the other usually I get what is on sale.
I had my father-in-law put in two cycle oil to my daughters sportsman, and when she went to ride it today, it isn’t driving right. When we put the choke on and she touches the gas, it is extremely sensitive. But when the choke is off, or all the way to the left, it is sputtering and has no power. Since it was driving fine before he added the oil, I’m assuming that the problem has to be related. Oil light was definitely on before. I opened up the oil and it looks very full now. Help.
