Gear Bag

I recently picked up a used Fox Honda gear bag, for what I consider a sweet deal $41.26 shipped! Bag is over all pretty clean, including the boot compartments. It’s plenty large, and has lots of compartments. I found what appears to be a roll out mat on the one side? Is this like a changing mat, you know something clean to stand on while taking off boots? It is sewn into bag, doesn’t come all the way out, but folds up nicely and fits into lower side compartment with room to spare.

1990 HONDA fourtrax 300

I’m picking up a 1990 blue Honda fourtrax 300 4×4 in the morning. I’m wondering if I’m getting a good deal. He was asking 1750 and I’m getting it for 1600. It’s looks to be in good condition but he buys and sells fourwheeler me for a hobby so he knows how to slick them up.
What should I look for when I check it out in the morning?
Is 1600 a fair price for a 25 year old atv?
He said it needs nothing but a Cv boot on throttle side?
Any help would be great! Thanks

RVS does it again!!!

Ryan is the man, he has an ecu tune to bring the Ranger 900 up to 86 horsepower !!!! The dyno runs are impressive, that is a massive jump over the stock 60 horsepower let alone the closest competition 1000cc machines from Honda and can am. :sgrin:

Belt slap anyone?

Hey
ok dad has a 2011 sportsman 500ho bought it with .8 hours on it it had been used just sitting guy never got a chance to use it as he died the day it was delivered…anyway dad used it for a few rides here and there works great after a few rides we noticed a "slapping" or knocking noise coming from the left side of the bike put my hand on the belt cover and lone be hold could feel it sooo I removed belt cover and found a……perfectly good looking belt ……well what in the hell is that noise then ???? after further examination of the belt cover on the inside I could see where the belt was slapping the cover, so I installed a new belt put it all back together ran on multiple rides and it is perfectly fine! But the other day it started doing it again why is this happening is my question here?
Any one ever run into this problem ? Thanks

1987 350 Weekend Restoration

I recently picked up a 1987 350 with a winch and snow plow for a great price. The body was in rough shape with a nice mix of random parts but the previous owner took good mechanical care of it. The only thing that didn’t work was the parking brake. It has definately had a rough life but the thing just refused to die. Here are some pictures of the rattle can restoration over the weekend.

Picking it up.

And done. I covered the side plastics in plastidip and dyed the original old camo bag with the Duplicolor dye.

I changed all of the fliuds and filters and put about 15 miles on it and it performed without flaw. It still starts, runs and climbs like a new(er) ride. I am impressed with how solid everything is and how well it works after all these years. I have a couple little items to fix but it is going to be a great snow plow.

I am looking around for the lower side plastics but damn, people online think they are made out of gold or something considering what they are asking for them.

Lending a hand

Had a weekend away hunting and riding a few tracks in the back country.
On Saturday morning we came across a couple of guys trying to recover there quad. Its been there for 4 months. The bike ended up about 80m down the creek. The rider got air lifted out with a broken tail bone and a badly injured shoulder. It took 5 hrs to got it back up onto the track again.

little guys first atv ride tonight

Geerig brought over his scrambler 90 that his kids all cut their teeth on, so went thru it and got’er all back upto snuff so i can get Cole aome practice. Still physically to small for it yet but by next spring/summer he should just be growing into it, but wanted to let him get the jist of it while its still warm out. Been doing some laps in the driveway and i put a throttle stop screw in to the point if its not perfectly flat ground, it wont move to keep speed down.

Tonight he promised not to complain about his thumb hurting so took him upto the picked bean feild to let er rip…nothing around to crash into and worst case of a panic run away i cut in front of him to stop…worse case scenario.

He made some laps and i seen his small hand issue so made a tiny extension that seemed to work okay at home here but we’ll feild test tomorrow pending weather. Had to turn out throttle screw a bit cuz feild so rough, but he was pretty good about staying beside me before videoing about 3-5mph…when i shot vid to get a head on shot he ope ed it up more than i wanted lol.

Then the little quick hitch i threw together yesterday to safely get him and quad thru the neighborhood upto the feild…"kinda same principal they use at drag strip to haul jr dragsters upto staging lanes and back to pits behind golf carts

He’s pumped, had fun in the shed helping dad make the throttle extension even though the rose bud torch scared him lol.
