Problems with shifter 96 sportsman 500!

I’m new to this site I’ve seen some similar posts about this but. I have a 96 sportsman 500 and It was having trouble getting it into gear and you can rarely ever get it into high but easily get it into low and it has trouble keeping 4 wheel drive on you have to hold the shifter forward to have it on. but then recently I was having trouble with it getting stuck in reverse now too. I have seen other people with the problems online but no answer yet. I’m guessing it has something to do with the shifter and stuff but i’m not too good with fourwheelers.

My Motoalliance experience

Some of you may remember a couple of months ago, Motoalliance ran a forum deal on their Viper Elite 3000lb winch. There were only 4 available. I had been looking for a winch for quite a while, but I wasn’t able to make up my mind. The price seemed right, so I ordered one. Peter was in contact with me almost immediately via PM, and he set one aside for me. The customer service department was on the phone first thing the next morning, and by 7am that day my order was processed. There was a small issue with my total being keyed in wrong, the woman on the other end of the phone was very apologetic, and the issue was resolved very quickly.

In no time at all, my winch was delivered to my house. The package was in great shape, and the contents of the box were well protected. Everything was there, and seemed to be of good quality.

It took me a little while to get around to installing it, as I travel for work and it was getting near the holidays. When I finally got to it, the instructions were clear and the install went relatively smooth. The winch worked very well. I did have trouble with the wireless remote, however. It just didn’t want to work. I re-checked everything, but it wouldn’t work.

By now, it had been over a month since I first ordered it. I sent an email to Motoalliance, and within 5 minutes they called me. Within 10 minutes an entirely new wireless setup was on the way. It arrived within 4 days.

I will be installing the new wireless remote this weekend, and I am confident it will work fine.

Why write all of this? While I was searching for a winch I was really leaning towards the Viper. However, I had second thoughts about it, because of some of th:beerchug:e very harsh things said about them on this forum. Some of which seemed very mean spirited and personal. In the end, I felt like I couldn’t pass on the deal.

I’m very happy with my purchase, not just because of the product, but more because if the customer service. It is rare these days to find anyone who stands behind their product at all, let alone how these guys do business. I wound recommend the product and the company to a friend.

Sorry for being so long winded, I just feel that if I’m willing to say something about a bad experience, I should also be willing to say something when a company gets it right.

Thanks Motoalliance , plow winner

Its taken a while to get pictures up , i was waiting to purchase a winch but ended up with one from Santa (wife). For those that dont know , i was one of two winners of a Denali plow from Motoalliance . I couldn’t be happier from the quality of the plow to dealing with Peter and the motoalliance staff . This blade is big and heavy duty , the family that lives next to be has a polaris blade is thin stanmped steel or appears. To be . Some may disagree , but having them next to each other you can see a diffence . When i lift the blade it does squat the front end down but no more than the polaris blade from what i could tell . I will oder from motoalliance for all my needs well unless i get gifts from my wife lol btw winch is polaris 2500

Bought my first ATV and need help

Hey guys, I bought my first ATV yesterday from a guy on Craigslist, and I’ve heard of all the horror stories so no need to fill me in, lol. In any case I ran the VIN and it didn’t come up as stolen and the guy who I bought it off has had it for over a year now.

He told me the guy who he had bought it off also bought it used (it’s an ’05 Honda TRX350FE) The battery is dead so I had to boost it from my truck to get it running which is does just fine. However after bringing it home I noticed the ignition switch has the key casing removed. And here’s where I’m somewhat torn –

Is that something to be concerned about? I mean you can see the plastic place where you can turn the machine "on" or "off" with something like a screwdriver, which in it’self seems fishy. However I can also see someone who owned it not really caring when they lost their keys and just popped the top off and started it with a screwdriver rather than order new keys or find theirs. It needs some work as the ES doesn’t currently work and I’m fairly sure it’s the solenoid that needs replacing among other things. It runs but it’s a project I want to fix up for my fiancee.

Last but not least, that being said – Is there any way to actually take complete ownership? I have a bill of sale but in the back of my mind what if someone comes out of the woodwork in the foreseeable future claiming it’s theirs? The guy seems like an upstanding guy but you really never know. Sorry I’m just new to this and may be over thinking it but I don’t wanna dump money into it if there’s any chance it’s not fully mine.

*I printed 2 bills of sale (he has one, and I have one) and have all the information his name, number, address, license number, I also paid by check etc.

Any information would be amazing, thank you!
