2012 Sportsman 800 rear differential issue

Hey everyone,
I think I have an issue with my rear differential, transfer case or the locking solenoid. I am hoping for some help on diagnosing my issue before I go and tear about the bike.

After a weekend of very ruff ridding I noticed my quad needs much more power to move. After the weekend I went to move the quad out of the garage and I snapped the rear right axle after making a tight turn. I replaced the bad axle and drove it down the street and snapped the other rear axle. In neutral the quad rolls very nicely with little resistance. I jacked the quad up, put it in 2×4 and turned the tires by hand and it does seem pretty restricted (hard to turn). I then took both axles out and started the quad to spin the internals and it again seems more restricted than it should and is pretty loud. Can any one help me determine if it is the transfer case, rear differential or the locking solenoid. It almost seems like the limit slip is not engaging and the rear is locked all the time. Thanks in advance!

99 Sportsman Brake system

When I squeeze the hand lever, brake fluid squirts out of my slave cap under the seat. I have heard about a valve in either the caliper or the rear master cylinder that keeps the hand lever and foot pedal from working against one another. What component is bad that is allowing this to happen? When I press the foot pedal, the hand lever gets firmer, when I pull the hand lever, it pushes up on the foot pedal. I pulled the caliper apart and it seems to clear and operating properly, is this in the rear master cylinder?

Thanks!

rear caliper piston pressure

how freely should the pistons move inside the caliper? thinking my O rings may have swelled up or something causing too much pressure on the piston to allow it to move.

brakes are not working so i disassembled the rear caliper and had a %&^#$#$ of a time getting the pistons out. once out, they were not rusted/pitted or anything. cleaned and smoothed everything up, and the O rings looked good. when trying to put the pistons back in the caliper, i had to use a C clamp to press them in. brakes still dont work.

if i open the master brake cylinder by the hand brake and squeeze the hand brake, i can watch the fluid level rise/fall about 1/8"-1/4" or so. if i open the bleeder, fluid will squirt out.

the fluid reservoir by the foot brake does nothing when the foot pedal is pressed. i get 0 fluid out of the bleeder from the foot pedal, but i can hear a slosh/squishing noise from the caliper when the bleeder is open and pressing the foot brake.

Foot brake

2006 Sportsman 450 here, and I just bought this about a week ago. The foot peddle brake is stuck/seized up and doesnt work any more. My dad went to the Polaris store and they said to not even bother fixing it, and that its a back up if the hand brake ever fails, and its not worth fixing. It also says in the manual the same thing…that its mainly for a back up and only stops the back wheels anyway. So my question is, should I bother fixing it? or just use the hand brake like everyone else is telling me. Anyone else have any experience with this? Is it hard to change out?

Any information would help greatly. 🙂 Thanks!!! :tee:

D Bat 6×6 Brake spares

My d Bat is currently being overhauled before being fitted with snow plow
it looks like we are going to need new pads/discs etc.
does anybody have any idea how to get these or where
also are there caliper repair kits available for these.

I would be most grateful for any assistance with this and any general tips on general maintenance for these beasts!

Many thanks Grizz
