Does anyone run aftermarket rear shocks on their sportsman 800?

i have a 2014 sportsman 800 and i want to have some adjustability on the rear shocks of my quad i know it had preload but i want stiffer springs for sure as of right now. Basically if i could put the $100 for hd springs towards a better shock i would rather do that. and does anyone know the length eye to eye of the rear shocks? my sportsman is at the dealer right now getting theft damages fixed at the moment. Thanks in advance for any help:thanks:

Front end lift

Hey guys. My 2008 Sportsman 800 sits like a wedge..aka the front end sags, and I don’t like it. Anything I can do to fix that? I’ve heard of spring spacer lifts but I’m not sure if that would do the job. Any ideas? Thanks.

2012 400 Sportsman Rear Boot

I have a rear ripped boot i"m trying to change and i can not figure out how to separate the the axle from the knuckle. so i can take the ripped boot off and put the new one on. I have been on you tube to see if i can figure it out. the only one i can see is a 500 and that says it has a snap ring on the axle. I do not see any snap ring on mine axle any help would be appreciated.
Thank you Lori

Sportsman lift

Anyone have any input on 3 inch lift kits for the sportsman 850s causing the front diff to lock up or engage prematurely?

I’m looking at the 3 inch outkast lift and just wondering what I am up against.

Any info is appreciated.

Brake issue

I am new to ATVs I recently bought 2 polaris sportsmans. the most recent purchase is a 2014 570 EPS with 71 miles. The guy I bought it from stated that he had the 100 mile service done, I but 70 miles on in last weekend and the the brakes started getting soft ( hand brake) and now are not working much. With this model the brake needs to be squeezed to start the machine… so I am also having trouble starting the machine…

Any suggestions????

thanks for any help

Troubleshooting sounds from rear suspension/drive

I recently bought an Outlaw 525 IRS. The people I bought it from let the suspension out as much as possible so they could lower it…I know I know.

I reset the suspension to my weight, according to the service manual. When I did this I took it for a test right and immediately noticed a loud noise coming from the rear of the bike, especially when I turn (left or right). The noise is a loud clicking, the noise increases in speed as the atv increases in speed. It also does this whether it’s going forward or in reverse, again mainly in a turn. I lowered the bike back down where they had it and the noise goes away.

I’m thinking that it’s the CV joints because when I raised the bike back up it increases the angle of the axles which could put more pressure on them. I’ve been told it could be wheel bearings or the center carrier bearings. Also the inside or outside CV joints. So my big question is how do I troubleshoot it down to the problem? I don’t want to throw money at something that doesn’t need to be replaced if I don’t need to.

Also it may need to be noted that the rear upper a-arm bushings are worn out and need to be replaced, they’ve been ordered already. I also replaced the chain (I know that’s not it but figured I’d still mention it.
