Stock Rear Shocks/Springs 2006 X2 500HO

I’ve got a 2006 500HO Sportsman X2 model. Very low hours machine because of my work. I made the mistake of lending it to my brother last week who called to let me know he broke one of the rear springs the other day.

I’m guessing I will have to replace both rear springs. Anyone know if the shocks will need replacing as well? I honestly haven’t had a chance to touch the ATV in a year, as I was out of town on a contract and it was in long term storage until I gave my brother the nod to borrow it. My memory is fuzzy concerning the rear suspension. Are the springs/shocks sold as one unit? I’ve found lots of info/parts for your standard Sportsman, but not the X2. Any feedback or suggestions would be appreciated. Thx! 🙂

Rear brake bleeds off.

I got on my bike tonight and used the rear brake to keep my bike from rolling down my driveway. After about 4 seconds of holding the pedal down the pedal would go down and the bike would start rolling. The bike was rolled backwards down a hill recently and this never happened before it rolled. It’s almost acting like there is air in the line. The bike is a ’14 sportsman 800. Any thoughts as to why my rear brake suddenly won’t keep pressure for more than 4 or 5 seconds?

Best suspension setting for front and rear springs

I have a 2015 Polaris Sportsman 1000 XP all stock suspension and tires. I am a bigger guy 6ft 2 295lbs. I was wondering if anyone knew what would be the best setting on the springs for trail ridding front and rear. I just got back from Hatfield and McCoy and I had several incidents where I bottomed out the supspension. Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

99scrambler 500 rear shock

My rear shock is soft. No load the machine sits nice. Add weight and it sags like an old lady. Can the fox shock be rebuilt or replaced. How about a heavier duty spring? I’m not sure, but I do know it is a low rider.
Was real supprised to find out the load limit on this machine is only 200 lb.
Thanks for input,
Mixedup

sportsman 550 suspension

I have a 2013 Polaris Sportsman 550 eps and it rides great on the trails. It is factory adjusted and have never had any problems. I just bought a 2014 Polaris Sportsman 550 eps for the wife and have found the suspension is a lot stiffer when on the trail. It is also factory adjusted and cannot be let out any further. I was told by somebody the suspension is the same as the scrambler. Any suggestions on loosing up the suspension or giving a little more cushion to the ride…Thanks
