Buying decisions

Hi all! New to the forum but have been over on the Commander forum for a few years. I have an 800 commander but wife decided she didn’t want to be a passenger. Looking for an Outlander as a second machine. I think I would like a yellow 800 or 850 or an XT-P, but would possibly consider a 650 or 1000 if it was an outstanding deal. I’ve been watching craigslist but haven’t found a good low mileage machine at a decent price.

I’ve been pricing new machines at some dealers. Could get a yellow 2015 800xt for $9200, a 2015 yellow 1000xt for $10,000, or a 2016 yellow 850 xt for 10,200 or 10,500 with a 2 year warranty. Any kind of extended warranty for 2015 models was quite expensive. I’m a little hesitant to buy a machine now with only a 6 month warranty because I wouldn’t use machine much until this summer after the warranty was gone.

I’m looking for Some thoughts on going after a leftover ’15 model vs a ’16 model? Could save some money on a 15 model but resale may be less, especially since they did make the engine changes for ’16. Thoughts on taking $300 rebate vs the extra 2 year warranty.

Let’s hear some opinions. Thanks!
