Bumper end caps broke on Outlander 1000 xt.

The ends of the bumpers on my xt 1000 have plastic end caps where the 2 pieces of pipe connect. Long story short went for a ride this past weekend and 2 of them broke completely off. Seems like a very cheap and wimpy design if you ask me. What are suggestions for fixing this. I don’t want to put the plastic pieces back on as seeing they broke off in the first 200 miles of riding. I was thinking of getting some metal pipe the same circumference and welding it together. If there are other solutions please chime in thanks!

New 570 Randomly shut off…

First off, I’m happy to officially be apart of the forum. I’ve been reading for a little while before posting, but have finally ran into my first issue.

We went wheeling last weekend through trails/mud/dirt at a local off road part. I kept it out of water for the most part however I did end up in a "puddle" that ended up being much deep than what it looked. It took it about 2-3 inches over the floorboard and was in and out of it real quick. About 10 minutes later the quad randomly shut off (killed all electronics). It fired right back up and did it 2-3 more times randomly the next 45 minutes. All times it fired right back up. The last hour or so of wheeling it was perfectly fine (assuming it was dry by now).

When I got home I sprayed it off with a normal garden hose and let it run for about 5 minutes and got on it for a quick air dry ride and it died one more time.

Question – Am I getting something wet that should be getting wet? I did spray the battery pretty good to clean all the dirt/mud off of it. Any other issues that I should be concerned about?

its a 2016 570 Sportsman EPS with 40 miles and roughly 7-8 hours on it.

Thanks for all of your help!

Hey PolarisATVForums, I’m Evan from RM Stator!

I recently moved here to Colorado from California, where I spent most of my free time in the deserts out east of San Diego. I’m also a big street motorcycle rider, usually averaging almost 15k miles on a motorcycle yearly. If it has an engine, you can assume I’m interested in it.

I’m a busy guy, with a ton of work to do, but I’m going to do my best to participate in the forum for electrical related discussions, hopefully help you guys to test and troubleshoot electrical problems on your bikes. One thing I’m good at is getting to the bottom of electrical issues, and explaining how things work.

So, let’s get started! Can’t wait to talk with you guys and hopefully meet some of you! Anybody who want’s to go ride in Northern Colorado, don’t hesitate to shoot me a PM!

Sportsman 850 XP

I am shopping around for a new quad and the 2009-2012 sportsman 850’s have my attention, they seem to be a reasonable price and would have the kick I want, also power steering. I want to hear from someone who has one though, do they have any common issues? what is important to pay attention to as far as maintenance? (things other than changing oil) and do you like it? how would it handle having some bigger tires put on it and some mildly aggressive mudding? Also what differences are there through the years of production of the sportsman 850s? I am kind of on the fence about one of them or a kawasaki brute force 750, or possibly a grizzly 700. how would it compare to one of these? I am coming from having a 07 arctic cat 700, its a great quad and I do like it but it lacks the punch of a twin cylinder. I’ve been on quads since ever but I’ve never had a polaris, they seem to have changed their game with their newer machines though.

07 rincon electrical problem

my 07 Rincon was running around the yard and everything was ok when I
parked it. next day turned the key on and no power to the instrument panel.
the batt was dead. I charged it up and still no power when I turn the key on.
the switch is good, I tested the continuity on both contacts. the headlights and taillights work with the key on.
so with the key on no power to the instrument panel or the aux power socket.
all the fusses are good, the diode is good. I can,t find anything on testing the bank angle sensor. anyone experienced this before. I,m stumped. I,m assuming that what caused the batt to go dead is where the problem lies??????
I hope the find the problem with out having to dismantle the whole machine.
anyone with ideas???
