New guy from NC

Well, I’m new here and in the process of building my first 300 (94 300FW). I’ve been reading a lot and thought I’d go ahead and join the forum so I could join in on some of the ongoing conversations.

About me…Let’s see, married with kids, the entire family loves to ride. I like shooting, riding, hunting when I have time. We already have a Kawa Prairie 650 and couple little bikes for the kids. I decided recently to build a 300 as my own bike for trail riding and dragging dead animals out of the woods.

Looking forward to continuing to learn this ATV and someday contributing some technical knowledge that I pick up from you guys here.

Jaso

i couldnt find info in the owners manual, shop manual, or the clymers, though it recommended for es models, maybe all. owners had SAE with API SF or SG. JASO has grades as well, MA-1 through MA-5. I think there is a thread here that covers that, i cant find it as well. the castrol im used this time is rated JASO MA-2, API SG.
i was thinking for some reason i needed the JASO MA-4. Just too many letters and numbers, for my criss-cross brain to keep track kcuff.

Troubleshooting/diagnostic mode 2015

Can anyone tell me the procedure to get into diagnostic mode on a 2015 grizz. I tried the procedure for 2009 grizz and it didn’t work. Grizz has been running a fever and has been burped a few times, only a day or 2 left on factory warrantee. Want to run OBD test before I bring into a stealership for service, also weighing extending warrantee. I did on last machine and it was a waste, but I wasn’t having heat issues on that one.
Thank you in advance:gcrules:

Scrambler 1000 questions

I have 2 new scramblers. One is a 2016 ( wife’s)and the other is a 2015( mine). Both bought new in the last month. I have read about dif covers breaking and frame supports needed. I will be riding the 15 and will push it much harder then my wife on the 16. What upgrades will be needed first? And should I upgrade both? Mostly fast trails and very little mud or water. Won’t even run 4 wheel drive very much. I will be putting a wench and plow on the 15. I just want to address the weak points before any failures. Thanks

2017 “Utility” model racks – GOOD NEWS!

so I put in for a quote for a 2016 570 touring out the door from two local dealers, and within 10 minutes I got a call from the "Polaris Concierge" who asked me what specific features I was interested it. And she confirmed that the 2017 racks "should" fit on the prior year models as there is no difference in the size/specs of the racks from 2016-2017. SO if you have an older model, and want the newer front rack extender, or full metal rear rack, you’re in luck
