2007 honda ricon rear brakes issue.

Seems I’m having hell with these brakes finaly got my 03 rancher brakes going now I’m working on my 07 Rincon and cant get the dam cover off the back that expsoes the inside of the drum! I took on the 2 big nuts and move them back and the washers but that dam plate wont come off it moves out and gets stuck it has some kinda ring in it that I cant get to slide out! it was seized up at first and I was able to get it to spin using a air chisel but it still wont slid off the shaft. any ideas on how to get it off? I was thinking maybe pulling the whole rear end off from left to right and putting it in a press or would that be a bad idea?

newbe with ignition question

Hello all
Last week I lost the key to my 2000 foreman 400 in the woods. I found out that if i cut off the ignition wires that I could hot wire it….so i proceeded to cut off the ignition switch. there are 4 wires, red, black, red w/black stripe, pink. I tied together the red and black and i could start the engine with the starter. Got home and re-spliced wires back together with switch and used my backup key but the starter will not turn over. but when I use the pull start, it will fire up. Not sure what the problem is…any ideas???

New project: Tired 450R

Picked up this beat CraigsList special 2006 450R on the cheap earlier this week. I went to look at it knowing it threw the chain and cracked the left side case so it was leaking oil all over. When I got there it mysteriously wouldn’t start even though it "ran fine" in the ad. I thought that’s my kind of beater quad and loaded her up.

Here’s some pics

The plan is to freshen up the motor. I also see the rear axle bearings are shot. Luckily the plastics are scuffed but not cracked.

I currently own a Kawasaki 450 and had a Yamaha 450 years ago but this is my first Honda 450.

More to come as I have time

800 rear end issues

Is there a known problem with the outlander 800 rear end? My rear diff has gone out twice so far this year. Went out earlier this year got it back and didn’t even have 10 hours on it before it was going out again. They said the tolerance is off which is why it’s going out. So now I’m considering trading for a 850 XMR. What do you guys think about trading for the XMR? Good move?

Pulling problems

Hey Guys I am new to this forum. I have a 2003 Honda Rincon 650 4×4. When me and my son go riding I have noticed after we have been riding for a while and try to pull a long hill it will struggle to pull the hill. However when he gets off the back it will not have a problem. I’m not real sure what the problem could be but would like to get some input before I take it to the shop and spend a lot of money on it.

Push button start doesn’t work

Hey everyone I need some help. I bought a Honda fourtrax 300 4×4 recently that was sittin for 3 or 4 years and is in some bad shape. When I turn the key the neutral light comes on but nothing happens when I press the start button. I’ve tried tracing wires and I’m getting power all the way up to the wires that connect to the button but I can’t seem to figure out what’s wrong. I’ve tried tappin the starter solenoid and still nothing I appreciate any help I can get. Thanks in advance

Outlander l shock upgrade fox

Nobody can confirm that fox shocks fit on an outlander l model. Can-am doesn’t list the l model as fitting with the $580 dollar fox shocks. I have a 2015 outlander l 500 max and they fit. Good news. I risked it and it is a direct easy fit. I had a super atv lift and removed it because the shocks lifted my machine another 2 inches because of spring. I took like an inch off the preload they came with. The rear lift bracket hit a little bit the stock mounts are fine. I can actually monster truck over obstacles now. I wish someone confirmed the fit sooner. A must upgrade for outlander l. I found myself bottoming out a ton in New Hampshire. I will confirm performance after next long ride. It resulted in about an inch of lift over stock I would say. Anyone want to buy my stock shocks?
