For almost two years the issue of slow or hard start for my 700xx has been an irritation. This issue sooner or later will affect all 700xx owners. After reading and looking at the issue it looked to me the issue was the (decompressor) located on the cam shaft. The Honda mechanic said either replace starter when it wears out, or replace the cam. Due to the manufacturing, replacing the worn out part means replacing the cam shaft. So I purchased new cam shaft, bearings, cam chain, and rear chain guide. Replacing the parts was not that hard and also I had some expert help from TRX2fiveO AKA Moose thanks again Moose. The PIA part was the motor has to be removed from the frame and yes all plastics/wiring behind the bars have to be disconnected or removed. After all the hard work and yes headache’s, pushed the start button last night and the 700xx lives again issue fixed. So long story short I knew going into this repair if this repair went south I could go on the Honda forum for help or support.

I have a question regarding the crankcase on a 2004 Polaris sportsman 700.
I pulled it apart to reseal it and it doesn’t look good on the inside. Attached is a picture.
Would appreciate thoughts from some of you that are more knowledgeable on this stuff!
Not sure if this is all cracking or not? Since it is really only visible on the inside.
We were doing some trail maintenance over the weekend and at some point, I backed up into some underbrush that caught my tail light wires and pulled them out of the socket. My dealer says I have to buy the whole assembly, but I don’t need all of that, just the socket.
Anyone know of a replacement part # for a socket that will work? Or am I stuck with having to buy the whole assembly for $43?
Good morning, i bought this last year. Unit had original tires and only been used a few times. Mostly to get deer out the woods and si forth. Gentlemen I bought it from was original owner and says it has fouled plugs here and there since he bought it. Honda shop he bought it from just replaced the plugs under warranty and that’s it. Knowing where he took it I can understand. They are no longer in business. With that being said I was wanting to know if anyone else has or has had the same issue and what corrected it. Thanks y’all
06 Hawkeye 300 with 25s, now the floorboards won’t fit. The front goes down but the rear hits the tire and won’t go down all the way without rubbing bad. Any ideas? If I trim the floors it might fit but it’s gonna be pretty close still. Anyone else ran into this problem? Maybe hack and rebuild the rear of the floorboard?
