2009 Yamaha grizzly 550

Had some front end damage to my Yamaha grizzly recently so I ordered all the parts online to repair it myself. Just having trouble putting on the plastic grill on the front that goes around the headlights and covers the radiator. Didn’t know if anyone could help guide me through putting it on! Or if there were any videos or walk throughs anywhere. Thank you!

09 Grizzly 700 randomly dying

I have an 09 Grizzly 700 camo with EPS. I bought it roughly 4 years ago from someone else. For the most part has ran great however sometimes it randomly dies when I take off at a slow pace, like just barely push the throttle. Sometimes it won’t start back up right away either. It also makes a strange whining noise after it is at running temperature and I stop and turn it off. The noise sounds like its coming from around the gas tank area but it’s hard to tell. I bought a new spark plug and a new fuel filter, just haven’t had time to install them. Does anyone have any experience with similar issues or have any ideas what else it could maybe be? I will update once I get the new plug and pump on but it might be a little bit before I can fully test it. Also, just FYI I have ~265 hours and 1,950 miles on the Grizz. Thank in advance.

New from Rotterdam

Hi,

I’m Rob and I’m from Holland.
At the moment I’m driving an Outlander max 1000 LTD.
This is my 5th quad.
I started with a Barossa Skywalker (that’s why my nickname is Skywalker) following by 2 Raptor’s 700 and the last one was a CFMoto X800.

If you have any additional questions please let me know!

Best Regards,
Rob

Starter problem 1990 TRX300FW

A few months ago the starter stopped working again. I don’t ride it very much so I let it go and kicked started it. I have replaced the brushes several times so I finally got a new set and replaced them. Put the starter back on and it just spins but doesn’t turn the engine. It sounds just like an auto starter with a defective Bendix. I disassembled the gears from the starter and found that the large ring gear inside free wheels in the direction the starter turns it. It will not turn in the opposite direction. It first glance, it looks like the starter is turning in the wrong direction but don’t think that is possible. Does the ring gear have dogs that pop out to start then retract after starting? It was working fine when the starter quit. Thanks.
