Defender

Hello, I just joined the forum.

I currently have Kawi Teryx 2 and want to change brands. I test drove a Defender HD8 and thought it was a great machine. Much quieter and turning radius much better than my T2.

I have some questions about Visco Lok.

I will be using the machine for utility work, duck/deer hunting, ice fishing, hauling a chocolate lab, riding on gravel roads. I don’t trail ride.

When I hunt I will be in muddy plowed fields and will need to drive slow so I can keep the machine under control. Its not considered technical riding but how will Visco Lok do? It seems like I need to remain on the throttle to keep the front engaged? I see you tube vids knocking Visco Lok calling it "3 wheel drive".

Going from an electronic locking front diff to Visco Lok is it just a matter of adjusting how I drive in 4×4 and get used to how it works?

Any negatives with Visco Lok in the winter?

Thank you for the help

2013 foreman sunk

I got a little deep on my foreman 500 just before snorkel was gonna go under I shut the bike off. The snorkel dipped under for a second and I got it back up. I winched out of the hole. Pulled drain plug on air box (1cup of water or so not full) I then checked oil and it was clean I fired bike up and it took about 10-15 seconds to fire up ( normally starts right away) I then started riding it everything was fine after about 5 min it act sluggish like dieing down for a split second then had full power. I stopped checked the obvious again and was all clear fired right up like normal and started riding back to the house every few min it would be sluggish again and then normal! Any suggestions on what it may be? Water in fuel?

09 700 Speedometer Reads 3 X Faster, NOT on Kilometers

Oh boy, I have just read about 30 threads pertaining to the subject and almost all were in Kilometer setting. I know how to change back and forth and have done so a couple times just to try it. This machine is new to me with a claimed 1600 miles and 100 hours although it looks like it’s been a fairly rough 1600 miles based on tires and some other items.
Previous owner had just changed the sensor that you can see through the oil check door, I am assuming that is the speedo sensor.
Of course the odometer is advancing fast too. I promise it says MPH!
Going to put a charger on battery in a bit but not suspecting a problem there.
Any ideas?
Thank you in advance!!!

2013 foreman sunk

I have a 2013 foreman 500. Yesterday I got a little deep before snorkel went under I shut the bike off the snorkel dipped under for a second I pulled bike out drained air box (1 cup of water) checked oil it was all good. I went to start it and it took about 10-15 seconds of cranking before it started. And that’s not normal it cranks right up. But right away it was bogging down. On the 2 mile ride home I checked oil 3 times and it’s clear but every 2-3 min the bike would bogg down and the. Act normal again? Any suggestions? Water in fuel?

98 Big Bear 350 4×4 Rebuild

Parts are ordered for my rebuild. The cylinder looks great so I’m going back with a new piston and ring set, valve guides, etc. I’ll also be replacing get the brakes and putting in a new pull rope. After that I will focus on headlights and replacing the old winch. The bike still looks good for her age, and deserves to be rebuilt.

this is a good idea that didn,t fly. the Rincon is to fast, the bottom of the Rincon looked like a porcupine with branches and sricks everywhere. so now on to plan B. gona scrounge some 12 inch mower wheels and make it a hand push brush cutter.
