Brakes hear air?

Hi, new to the site, just bought a polaris wheeler a few months back. Nice machine, 2012 sportsmen 500HO.

I’m currently having an issue with the brakes. I only have brakes when i press the lever and the foot pedal at the same time.

If I just push the lever in or just push the foot pedal in it does not do anything at all.

If i push in the lever I hear this hissing sound. I can’t really find where its coming from, sounds like its in the middle of the bike at the bottom. I tried several times. I just replaced the rear brake master cylinder because i though that was the problem. Its not, any ideas would be appreciated.

02 Rubicon fan not working

Rewired an 02 Rubicon a while back. It’s an 02 and bought a used supposedly 01-04 harness that seemed to work fine, except the fan doesn’t work.

Coolant sensor on the back of the head looks screwy, so I grounded the wire, temp light comes on, but no fan.

Ran + and – directly to fan motor. Fan comes on, spins fine.

Now I’m stumped so I pull front fender and look at connection. Green from wiring harness is backwards from green on fan connection.

I reversed the wires, still nothing when I ground sensor wire (temp light still comes on).

So I go to checking and if I run + to fan motor it comes on. Apparently it is getting constant ground and NOT constant + like I thought it was supposed to.

Did the fan system change from year to year? Was it always a "sensor grounds system which turns fan on" system?

I’m stumped. I know I can run a toggle and make it work but I’d rather have it right.

There any other sensors in this circuit?

What is this?

Ok, I know some of you may laugh, but I just got this ’06 Sportsman 500 HO and cannot determine what these two rocker switches are for. The owners manual does not depict them. Can some one please let me know what they are and do. Thanks

At My Wits End

Could really use any help! I have a 2005 Polaris 500 Predator that is leaking oil out of the vent hose on the oil tank. The hose runs out of the tank and is capped with a filter via hose clamp (pic 1 and 2). there is an unbelievable amount of oil coming from here. I heard that hose goes to the air filter box, but I have a hose coming out of the back of the engine vertically (the thick hose in pic 3) that goes into that port. I also have a small elbowed pipe coming out of the back of the clutch case (pic 4) with nothing on it. Im at my last straw with this bike, and really need answers. Thank you all.

Front Fenders

Does anyone know if other front fender assemblies can fit? or be modified to fit and still look decent. i picked up a phoenix for $100.. most of the parts are there. with the exception of the whole front clip and the starter and battery. ive ordered a cheap starter and am on a TIGHT budget.. i am a mechanic so modifying one doesn’t scare me. also does anyone have a service manual thats free? The service manual for my can am is everywhere on the net.

thanks in advance.

Honda 200atc electrical modifications

Hello, all I have an 83 200atc that is just the base module so no electrical start no battery ect. I use it mainly for ice fishing, I want to add an led flood light to the bike. So my question is how do I add a battery to the electrical system to run the led lights and also have it charged from the engine running? This has to be possible but I’m just a little confused as to that parts are needed and how it would work. Thank you in advance!

New member with a new 450 h.o.

I’m Mark. This is my 16 sportsman 450 h.o.

I’ve been a Honda guy most my life but my Rancher 350 has been a complete pile all summer.

So my buddy ajarman talked me into buying a new Polaris to start modding instead.

Only 3 hours and 19 miles so far, but no complaints. Much much better than the outgoing Honda.
