Hey Guys!
I’ve been doing some reading but I’m a but confused with the material I’ve been reading.
I just bought a new 2017 Outlander Max XT 850. I upgraded my tires to 28" Swamp Lites. When I asked about the need for a clutch kit in order to get back some lost power, the dealer stated that the motor is powerful enough that I wouldn’t really notice. is this statement accurate??
All I’m looking at doing is keeping the gearing where it is now. I just want to compensate for the 28" tires. I want to make sure that even with the 28" tires I get all the power that I’m paying for.
I ride about 85% Dirt road and 15% playing in the mud.
I was considering the DBO 850 kit from Dalton. Any recommendations?
Starts right up and idles fine. Then after running awhile and warmed up if I stop and put it in neutral the idle will slowly climb until it’s idling so fast I have to hit the kill switch and then start it again in order to put it in gear.
I have done some research and found a few guys running 30s stock on 850xps. Anybody running 30s on a 1000xp with the spring preload cranked all the way up? Minor trimming doesn’t bother me.

So I have been looking to buy a used 02-07 TRX250 and I am curious about what is a good deal. I have seen everything from $500 to $1800 with most of them priced near $1,200. On the low end, $500, they are not currently running and claim the bike only needs a couple of things like carb and battery.
I was wondering if these prices are about right since the only blue book values I can find are closer to $650 to $1,000. Let me know what you think or any recent ones you have seen for sale and what they are asking.
I just bought a 2004 Sportsman 400 from a friend of mine. To me, it sounds like it is running a little bit rough, sputtering or skipping almost. Here’s a link to a video of how things sound at idle and revving the engine a bit.
Would adding wheel spacers on my 550 EPS with stock tires and rims do anything as far as stability and widening the trac? What would you recommend if anything? I don’t want to get into adding shims or anything else, just looking to improve on the marrow trac look it has versus the 700 and possibly improve on the cornering.
Hey guys, this has been a bit of an issue for some time.
Somebody had mentioned that it might be the starter, so i bought an ebay starter a few months back when i had purchased some other parts.
So here’s the issue, the starter is making a clunking noise when i try to start it, it still starts, and sometimes the clunking noise is loud and very prominent, sometimes it even sounds like it’s binding too, but then most times it starts with NO issues at all.
So already having another starter i simply just changed them out thinking that it would solve the problem and we’d be done, but it seems that i’m having the same issue with the new starter in. This would lead me to believe that the issue isn’t in fact the starter but maybe the bendix gear or the starter flywheel.
Has any out there experienced this???
ANy hints or suggestions??
Can the bendix gear be removed without having to pull the flywheel off??
Anyway, thanks for any and all input
Here is a link to the video that i made to help show what’s happening, i tried posting it through photobucket, but it wouldn’t work so i had to do it via youtube.
