towing a renegade 500??

Hi, if I slowly tow a non running 2008 Renegade 500 for about 4 miles in neutral, will I bugger up anything in the engine/transmission. Went out last night to look for a lost dirt bike rider and my battery packed it in and quad died so had to get towed back to the trailhead by an Outlander. Am worried if I buggered up anything in my Renegade. Let me know…couldn’t find anything specific on the Internet. Thanks!!!

ps…lost rider was found at 3 in the am safe and sound. GPS’ are your friends.

2009 420 AT brake question

I have a 2009 Rancher 420 AT with power steering/IRS and I cannot figure out all the model options when looking at brakes.

My model is TRX420 FPA.
Seems like when I search for parts, the power steering option limits selection. Are the parts different from the FA model?

I am looking at this brake rotor kit:
2009-2013 Honda Rancher 420 TRX420 FA 4×4 AT Front & Rear Brake Rotor

But it doesn’t show that it fits the FPA. If I search for my model exactly, I can only find 1 or 2 rotors that show they fit. Trying to keep it as cheap as possible.

I have a set of Volar Sintered Metal pads in my cart as well. Can’t find much info on these either.

Any help is appreciated! Thanks.

Help 08 700 ranger

Hey guys. New to the forum seen some great topics and great answers glad to be a part. I am a mechanic and hopefully I can be of help to some of you. That being said I am having the old 700 ranger throttle and TPS issues. I have a new throttle body and TPS on my machine thanks to a dealer mishap and since they had it machine has not operated properly. Has no power. Took matters ino my own hands and found a reading of .465v on my yellow wire for the TPS. So shouldn’t be a problem right. Adjust it to .660 v and still not performing right. So on to the long version. Disconnect throttle cable and set base voltage to .528v. Problem is where do you set the TPS sensor to begin ? Against my own better judgment I adjusted the main idle screw which is supposed to be factory set an now I have a real problem won’t even run. Oh boy have I done it now. Any help would be excellent. In particular where do you set the TPS to get your .528v ?

I cant tell….

I cant tell if my rear wheel bearings are gone, i just did them last season and don’t have much millage on them my bushings are definitely gone. With the rear jacked up my wheels have a LOT of movement like they are going to fall off, there is no grinding noise or anything like that.
Thoughts…

Anyone interested in buying/trading for 2013 Renegade 1000 with lots of extras?

So I am finding myself in the situation where I need more room for the kids to ride along with me, so I am being forced to let go of the Renegade in favor of either a Outlander Max or SxS of some sort.

So……what I have available…..

2013 Renegade 1000, BASE Yellow, NO POWER STEERING

550 Miles, 58 hours

2nd owner, bought off the Can-Am forum.

This machine is very clean and well maintained. I have many extras that can be kept or removed based on buyer’s needs:

-Muzzy Dual Slip On Exhaust
-VFJ Tuned Muzzy Digitune in Pelican case
-Wild Boar Rear Bumper
-Wild Boar Rear Rack
-BRP Extreme Front Bumper
-BRP Hand Guards
-Pro Taper Handlebars
-BRP XMR Snorkel Kit
-OMC Air Filter Gasket
-Kolpin Fender Flares
-Elka Stage 1R shocks

I have 3 sets of wheels and tires available……one or all available based on your needs.

-Stock XXC Beadlock Wheels with Holeshot Tires like new
-14" MSA M20 KORE with 26" Bighorn Tires like new
-14" No Limit Octane on 29.5 SuperATV Assassinators like new

I just put new brake pads on last night, and have 2 extra pad sets…..cover 1 axle. I also have a spare set of used rear axles, extra oil and filters, extra belt (NEW Maverick Belt), extra ignition switch (new also), as well as stock snorkel parts and stock muffler. I do NOT have the stock shocks. This machine is VERY well maintained, and everything was done right.

I also have a QSC RevX I can add in for the right amount if desired, but I plan to reuse this if I buy a Max, so dont be expecting it for free!!

Only trades considered would be an Outlander 1000 MAX (prefer XMR or XT/XTP), OR a SxS…..that one I am not 100% certain on, but send over for consideration.

Some cash outright scenarios to consider-the machine WILL have the front bumper and Elka shocks since I dont have stock shocks, and cannot remove front bumper without leaving holes….SO…

-ATV with front bumper and Elka shocks & XXC tires & wheels $6250
We can add on extras from here, you can buy it as it sits, take things away, however you’d prefer.

ALL fluids were changed about a month ago……machine is ready to go. Bring your jack and tools and q-tips and feel free to do a full inspection.

PM if interested!!!! Located in Bloomington IL, but I travel for work and can possibly meet somewhere in Central IL.
