First ride on my ’05 800.

Participated in my first dice run on the 800 this past weekend. Only issue I had was an overheating issue. I’m hoping it is just because the radiator was clogged with mud. Ordering a rad relocation kit in a few weeks. Along with some 28" tires and a 2" lift. Had a great time, met some great people, and made some great memories. Can’t wait to go again next year!

This hole was deceiving. I got stuck and had to get off to winch out. The ruts went up to mid thigh on me.

Broken bridge after the third checkpoint. Had to call my buddy at the trailhead to let him know to come out and fix it. These huge SxS’s beat the hell out of it this year.

4×7 Trailer questions

hey guys, I came a across a great deal on a 4×7 trailer. It is the tractor trailer supply brand. I can get it for 350.00 brand new. Yes I know everyone says go larger, but I don’t need one. I have access to 5×10 and larger whenever. I just need this for going maybe 10 miles away from my house. No crazy highway trips or anything. With that being said, will my outty fit? I have sti hd7 with bear claw 26x9x14 and 26x11x14 i believe the off set is 5+2 (whatever the standard would be)?. I dont care if it is a tight squeeze. I won’t be able to measure the outty for the next few days bc I am not around.

Thanks!

Intro

Just aquired a VERY SLIGHTLY used 2005 Outlander 400 XT. It only has 30 miles on it.

A gentleman bought it new in 2005 and in less than 6 months he found out he had cancer. The ATV was cover and in storage until recently his wife decided that she was never going to ride it and sold it to me. I have ordered a new battery, oil filters and synthetic oils for the engine and differentials. Figured I would flush the gas tank and take a look at the carbs before trying to fire it up as it was not prepared for storage.

Anything that I should be aware of to check?

later,

Bob

97 Big Bear leaking fluid

Hello,

I noticed a small amount of fluid pooled underneath a 97 Big Bear.

The rubber boot that covers the rear arm to what looks like the transmission has pulled away (clamp came off) and there is oil very slowly dripping out.

See Pic,

After researching on this forum it seems it is either the rear seal needs replaced or the rear yoke nut needs tightening.

Can someone confirm I am on the right path?

Thanks,
T
