Leaking Clutch Housing

Hey Guys

Im having trouble keeping the water out of my Clutches

Ive got a Snorkel kit on the bike from Snorkel your atv.

the kit works / installed well, problem is anytime i get above the Clutch covers in water it starts taking on water.

Ive pulled both covers (front and rear) off put a nice bead of silicone on the back housing and reinstalled it , let it set over night, then snugged the bolts up, used RTV high Temp silicone, the whole 9 yards… but it seems to still leak all the Joints / fittings are siliconed and sealed as well …

does anyone have a secret to sealing that puppy up? is there an aftermarket gasket? can i make a gasket? special silicone / Sealant?

any tips would be great. I play in water a fair bit so id like to get it sealed properly

Front XMR diff swap??

I have a can am 1000xt and front/rear XMR diffs. After doing the research, I know that the rear prop shaft has to be an aftermarket shortened shaft for the rear swap. I have seen several write-ups. My question is what about the front XMR diff? I want to swap both but I cannot find any information on the front differential swap

Electrical Issues 06 Sportsman 450

Great forum – have gleamed a lot of good information. I have search the forums and found similar problems, but my main question is ohm reading on the stator. My cluster stated flashing the battery and would go out after riding at a steady speed. My RPMs are not registering but the other items are working (hours/trip/odometer. I removed and drained the housing where the stator is located and got a 1/4 cup or more of water. I checked the yellow wires with a fluke meter and the ohms read .5 across all three legs. Repair manual indicates the reading should be 0.43. It does not indicate variances so would the stator be bad or good based on the differences in the reading .5 versus .43?

The dealer here indicated the stator was probably not bad, and the ECM is more than likely the problem. We did a diagnostic in the field and the voltage was 13+ at idle and increased to 14, but when we put it in gear it jumped to 18-19 volts which is why they thought it was the ECM. I want to verify the ohm reading since I have it apart and replacing it would be easier now with the plastics off.

Sorry for the long email but want to get the facts as I remember.

Exhaust mod….update

I am looking to get a deeper note from my exhaust without being anxiously loud, a few decibels louder would be ok. Slip on’s such as the Looney Toon & Big gun are too loud & the HMF swamp series is to fricken expensive here in canada, $550!!!
I searched "exhaust mod" & only found a couple of older threads. Looking for some feedback on riders that have been running their own exhaust mods to try to find the right mod configuration to use.
Thanks

400ex – wheel flew off while riding!

You guys were so helpful with my last issue, thought I’d see if anyone has had this happen.

2002 400ex, carrier bearing went out so ordered parts and changed it out (no issues there). While putting it back together, noticed the hubs had quite a bit of play, so went ahead and tightened it all up with an impact wrench. Slapped the tires on and took it for a ride. We did notice couple weeks ago that rear left tire only had 3 out of 4 lug nuts, had not replaced the lug nut yet. Anyway it rode beautifully. The new bearings really made a difference. That was yesterday.

Today, took it out and rode lightly. Went to turn around in the road to put it up and bam! The rear left tire went rolling down the road. The lug nuts still on the lugs. (darn lucky it was at low speed, hate to think what could have happened at high speeds

See pics, the lug nuts welled out the rims? Has anyone ever seen this happen?

New rims are going to run me $60, would like to know why this happened before we throw new ones on.

Any ideas??? too loose? (remember, impact wrench) too tight? (can’t you impact the wheels?)

28″ zillas on 570

Anyone running 28" 10 front 12 back on their 570? Wondering how it turns them. My buddies trading me his spacers and 28s for my stocks and I don’t want tires that are just gonna make it feel gutless. I ride mostly skeg where you need lots of wheel speed to skim across holes so just wondering if it’ll spin them good enough to do that

First time using winch !

I have a black ash /cedar swamp in the middle of my 40,today i decided to attempt a crossing . I don,t remember it ever being quite this wet. Tried out the 4 wheel low full lock. That was cool but does not help when she is on her belly. Was able to winch out pretty easy considering i was in it up to my knees.
