Heated grips other than Symtec

So on two of my Foreman’s I’m running Symtec heated grips. Last weekend took a ride at dusk and flipped on the grip heaters. Left side didn’t work, so I looked into it and the wires going up into the grip had pulled loose. Not sure exactly how it happened as I have the wires zip-tied to the bars, but when I started checking the wire it slid right out of the grip.

Called Symtec and asked about getting a replacement grip. They told me that the slip-on style was no longer made, and that I’d have to buy a non-matching clamp on grip or buy a new set.

ONE replacment grip is $33 shipped. New set of clamp on grips is $44 on Amazon.

That said, this was on my seldom driven 09 that I bascially have put back as a spare wheeler. It only has 1500 miles on it, and the grips weren’t put on until 2013 so I’m a little irritated with Symtec at the moment.

Anyone use any of the other grips out there with good success? I’d rather try another brand if I’m going to have to buy a whole new set.

Anyone familiar with these?

Fuel/air tuning for 9000′ riding

We have 2 2004 and 1 2005 sportsman 500 HO’s. At our elevation they were running like carb’ed cars with the choke full on. Our most popular local independent Polaris mechanic removed the snorkel’s, adjusted the needle height, and drilled 4 inch and a half inch holes in the air box covers, first determining that we do not ride through knee deep streams. We now need to choke them until they warm up, but then they run like they were at sea level. Question is are we now doing any harm to our engines with these mods? I’m not a mechanic, but do have an inquiring mind and would like to get some "second opinions".

Kenda BearClaw HTR vs BearClaw EVO vs STI Blackdiamond

I picked up a few new wheelers for my wife and I 570 sportsmans. Looking to get some tires for them.

I have had black diamonds in the past and really did like them. They didn’t excel in any one area but did well in all.
I have read a lot of people like the HTR Kendra’s but also noticed the Evos on their website and haven’t seen any reviews on the BearClaw evo

I will mostly do trail riding and some mudding what would work best. Also I most likely will go with 26s and stay with 12 wheel for hers and may move to a 14 on mine

Thanks for input

Awesome 570 / 650 clutch set up for sale

The set up is a CvTech clutch with a different engagement spring . I ran this with stock tires on my 570 and it would catwalk with ease . It pulled 2 to 3 lengths faster in a drag race without losing any top speed . this set up cost 549.00 for the clutch and 30.00 for the spring plus tax . I want 400.00 CAD for it . Has 500 miles on it . Prefer to sell in Canada but might consider shipping to States .

This clutch can be converted to run on my 850 which I am planning on doing if I do not get the 400.00 plus shipping .

This clutch will work on the 650 or 570 . Part number 0900-0034 .

Put bike back to stock before I traded it in and cannot believe how much it lost in performance with the stock clutch down low .

Also have an HMF programmer for a 570 .

New member with 2014 Grizz 350

Just bought a 14′ Grizzly 350 4×4, and it seems to have good speed and acceleration for my needs but I’m not a mudder or submariner. I read that it had 30 horsepower, which is more than some of the 450 bikes, but I haven’t tried it on the narly hill and mountain stuff yet. The things I’m most impressed with so far are the smoothness/comfort and the engine braking, I’m just having a little trouble with the ignition key switch. Some times I have to jiggle the key around to get the dash to light up and the bike to start. Anyone have any thoughts on this?
