newbie needs a bit of help

I have a 2009 250 TRX ES. The neutral light went out and will not shift gears. I can pull start, but go nowhere.

I am in a remote Arctic community and the store ordered me a "neutral light sensor" that turned out to be a clutch switch. Derp!

I am nowhere near a Honda dealer. I have searched everywhere online and cannot find a part number for the sensor. While I waited three months for them to ship the wrong part, someone stole the cover for the toolbox that also covers the battery wires and connects to the tail light. I cannot find a part number for it, either.

Is there anyone who can help with this? And yes, I have even searched for a list of Honda dealers and get nothing but lost in a multitude of forums and Google ads.

Many thanks!

Yes, believe it or not, I got stuck Friday, Eye candy winch came in handy

We are in the Black River area of Wisconsin riding for 2 days, Friday we were on the trail from Black River to Hatfield, we were forewarned that we would encounter 4 wheel drive useage by other riders that were staying at the orange moose.

About 4 miles in I got stuck, I got off, got on the wifes 850 with the winch, now get this peeps, I had her pull out the winch rope and hook the hook on my quad, I was high centered with all 4 wheels spinning in either direction, so with about 12 feet of rope I began winching, she is back on my quad and all that is happening is with me on her quad, I am being pulled closer, i’m like WTF.

Winch did good, its just that the outcome was not as planned. So I let off the in bottom on the winch, put her quad in reverse and yanked my quad backwards as if it wasn’t even there. So we switched quads again, we both back out of there, while I’m backing, I have to use the reverse override button because the quad kept sputtering terrible.

So the moral of the story here, the eye candy winch kinda worked in this situation but later on next week my quad will get a winch. Oh by the way, we still have Saturday to ride and we are having a blast.

New guy from England

Hi Guys,
Just to say hello, I have been reading the forum posts with interest, lots of good information on here.
Anyway, just purchased my first quad, 2006 TRX 400 FA, believe they are called Rancher in the US.
All in working order, but I plan to strip it down and restore it.
I am sure I will be asking some questions and looking for advice.
All the best

Engine braking?

Just bought a used 2014 Grizzly 350 and I absolutely love the engine braking. I didn’t think it was a big deal when I heard about it but it is really a nice safety feature for going down steep grades. I normally have a death grip on the brakes going down the hills and now I hardly ever use them, the brakes should last a really long time. My question is, are there pads or discs or something on the engine that functions the braking feature that needs to be checked or periodically replaced?

brake issue with TB 250

so we lent my girl friends uncle her (roughly 2003?) trailblazer 250 to take out on the trails with us.
When we got it back, the rear foot brake wasn’t working at all… now this is nbd as the front will lock up all 4.

I did bleed the hell outta the rear brake and still it’s not working. Well I just kinda didn’t worry about it for the past 2 years or so

Now, the front was getting soft,,, and now (about 2 weeks later) the front isn’t working at all.

Any suggestions on where to check first or where to start with this? I’d like to fix the whole system so everything works.

hi guys,

so im on here to try to resolve an issue with the brakes on my gf’s roughly 2003(?) 250 trailblazer.
This bike has been beaten like hell and runs GREAT! I think ive added 2 stroke once to it and maybe 1 oil change in the 5 years we’ve had it? aha thing is a beast. oh and 1 spark plug change

im extremely mechanically inclined and work on all my own motorcycles and cars. I have a 1930 ford model a tudor sedan rat rod project im working on putting an big turbo FD rx7 engine (13bREW) in 🙂

I also have a ’85 rx7 I autoX and I just sold my 09 C30 to pick up a NA Miata,, but im not a fan tbh, gonna sell and buy an r32 gtr I think.

Any way to mount a gun boot/scabbard?

Hello. I am very interested in buying a Renegade 1000. 95% of the riding I do is intense sport/Mud/Trails here in northern BC and a renegade would be perfect. I have one question though. Is there any way to mount a gun boot on the renegade to carry a rifle? I like to hunt once or twice a year and would like to keep the rifle protected. Would the rubber down custom bracket and outlander rear rack work? Is there any other way and has anyone done it? Pics? I don’t really want to have to buy an outlander for one huntIng trip a year and am hoping someone has done this?
Thanks very much

neutral light

question on a 1998 Polaris sportsman 500, when in gear the neutral light stays on.. bike is a friends that sat for 5 years someone tried to steal , I put in a new ignition key switch, the wires from the old switch to the new switch look the same, bike runs fine everything works although the neutral light stays on:silvia:

Brand new rincon dead battery

So here goes I got a brand new 2015 rincon not even got he 15 miles on it yet installed a superwinch so while running winch I run battery down fig no big deal just charge battery well trying to charge battery and seems like battery is bad now charger will not detect battery volt meter shows like 6 volts on battery. So guess battery is shoot. Now to make things worse I worry about hooking up new battery because something fishy here if I check with meter pos and neg with no battery installed it shows a complete circuit with the key in off position this does not sound right to me would think should only show complete if key in on position so anybody have any ideas. Oh and could only get 6 volts after removing battery think safety on meter was preventing reading because of short?
