Grizzly 600 secondary spring weight?

Hi. New member to the forum but I’ve been using it to research for a while and it seems like an awesome place. Also, I have 3 Yamaha quads so it only makes sense to finally join.

I’m doing a complete frame off restoration to a 2001 Grizzly 600. I’ve done some mods to the engine, including: Weisco 10:1 piston, bored to 635, Web Camshafts #387 grind cam, head mildly ported, header pipe welds ported, 6Sigma jet kit, DG exhaust. I probably will run 26 or 27" Mud Bugs but haven’t decided yet.

I’ve come to part of the resto where I’m going through and rebuilding the clutchs, both wet and dry systems. I’ve done a lot of research and I think I have a fairly good grasp of how to modify and how the cvt system works. One thing I haven’t been able to find is the rate of the stock secondary spring and how it compares to the after market EPI spring colors.

Does anyone here know what the stock rate is? Which EPI spring would be a step up from stock or if you have a color recommendation that would be appreciated.

Edit: I’m not an overly aggressive driver but the quad will seem some mud, heavy pulling, and slow going in rough terrain. I like to have fun but it will also be worked hard on occasion.

Fuel issue

My 2013 850 XP is having a fuel problem. It smells like there is a fuel leak but I stripped the plastic off and checked after ridding for a leak but no such luck. Still could smell fuel but there is no leak. Seems to be comming through the exhaust but the plugs are a little lean, almost a hint of white. But the exhaust tips are tan brown not the normal black. I’m stumped. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Fuel issue

My 2013 sportsman 850 xp is dumping fule through the exhaust to the point that I stripped the bike down and drove it untill the fuel smell was strong but there are no leaks. There is only one sensor in the system that I can find under the air intake manifold that must be a throttle position sensor. Could this be faulty and causing the bike to dump fuel? The outlets of my muffler are tan brown, not normal black and my plugs are slightly white (lean) but it’s using way more fule then normal. Took almost 5 gallons to go 54 miles at idleing/hunting speed over the weekend. Any help or knowlage would be appreciated. Thanks.

Fuel issue

While using my bike (2013 sportsman 850xp browning edition) last week for hunting I noticed that after idleing around in the warmer weather and once the bike was running warm, fan was kicking in every minute or two, I could smell gas, very strongly. Once I returned home (yesterday) I removed the side panels and fromt clip and rode the bike untill the same conditions were met. Long behold NO fule leak, anywhere. The exhaust however was very very ritch smelling and the plugs are burning a tad white (lean). What would cause my bike to dump extra fuel? Exhaust smells like the choke is on all the time but obviously the bike is EFI. Any one else have this issue or have any knowlage about it? Thanks.

I have an 04′ with only 60 original hrs on it Ive had a valve lash adjustment done and the only other thing is my carb was rebuilt by a certified KTM mechanic. As for mods the only things Ive done are re-jetted the carb, K&N panel filter in stock air box with lid and 5 Uni vents in the rear of the box, pure polaris/white brothers pipe…………….My ? is it sits more than its used and when I go to start it let it idle for awhile or maybe even ride it a little and when I go to put it away and it sits again for awhile the next time I wanna play with it Im finding lots of oil in my airbox like a quarter of a quart? What is causing this? Any help would be greatly appreiciated
