Newbie from Louisiana with Fourtrax 300

Hey everybody, A buddy of mine gave me an old Honda Fourtrax 300. It hasn’t run for several years so I’m at the beginning stage of testing it out. The first thing I did was hook up some jumper cables and got the clicking sound. Did the screw driver over the solenoid and got a clicking sound with a little spark but no turn over from starter or engine. The kick start will not budge. It will freely roll though. I’m just trying to test for spark plug fire first but was surprised that the kick starter lever wouldnt let me push it down. I’m also using a 12v car battery hooked up to the pos and neg wires via jumper cables to make sure I got a neutral green light. Any ideas about the kick starter? I found an online manual but I don’t have a service manual.

Noob Here from NC

Hello from NC. Bought myself a 2014 Grizzly 700 a couple weeks ago after a few weeks of searching for a nice rig with reasonable hours/miles. Stumbled across this Grizz on the ol’ interwebs (Craigslist). Guy was offering up this rig for $5,500 with 12hrs and 45ish miles. I thought it was too good to be true, its basically brand new. Ended up picking it up for $5,200. I feel it was a heck of a deal. Has a Viper winch installed and aftermarket 14" wheels and 26" tires. I’m more than pleased with my purchase and look forward to mod-ing it out! Thanks for having me!

2004 Rincon 650 Price

Hey guys,

Last year we had a co-owner on our woodlot and he has a 2004 Rincon 650. Goes without saying, we bought him out. I’m wondering the price of his ATV knowing the history he’s had with it… Perpare yourselves, this guy is a clown:

  • He is very incompetent and does not want to try even changing his oil
  • The ATV has lags on it which are getting pretty worn out, the rubber is starting to tear
  • He was nice enough to drag our trails during the winter time, so it put his bike through hell going up hills in deep snow (he could barely make it up)
  • Speaking of hell, he flipped it 3-4 times, once in a brook upside down where he almost died by drowning, the other time in the middle of an asphalted road; smashing the esthetics and his wife woke me up at 1am during a work week to go save him because he was stuck under his bike
  • As mentioned before, very incompetent and no maintenance was done. The battery is dead (he brings a booster pack with him instead of replacing the battery), springs squeek non-stop on his suspension, never put stabil or changed the gas after letting his ATV sit for months. Never changed any oil. Also didn’t put air in his tires until he flipped it when I saved him… :icon_rolleyes:
  • Drove this machine drunk and stoned 98% (maybe 100%) of the time.
  • Also, the guy is an asshole. He used to insult me because I was rebuilding my TRX300FW. I think he was just jelous that I was ready to attempt a try at it while he was intimidated by these things.
  • Other … ? I’m forgetting a lot of stuff… He bought it almost new from his brother in law (not even a full tank of gas went through it when he purchased)

I don’t know the Rincon 650 very much aside that it almost killed that man a couple times (obviously because of him). What are some weaknesses / strengths of this machine?

Knowing this, what price tag would you guys be putting on a bike like that?

Here’s a pic of the bike, apologies; it’s the only one I could find. And yes, this man was able to reproduce and actually has a grandson… Also, this side looks much better than the other side. The other side is all scratched to shit.

Edit: Additional info, I remember he could put his bike automatic or shift it manually using the up/down buttons on the handlebar. Also has hand warmers.

Rain gear

Wondering what everyone is using for rain gear. We picked up a couple suits of Wetskins from crappytire, only used it a couple of times before the linings started ripping. Had it replaced under warranty but might just get a refund and buy something better. We have fisherman’s rubber clothes that we use while fishing but that’s a bit too bulky. Just looking for something water tight and durable

DJ Trigger

Tried to find the DJ Trigger thread, couldn’t but there was a lot of questions as to if it would fit a 2015 or 2016 unit. Have the 2016 sportsman 570.

Perfect and a very easy install. I did have to take the Polaris hand guard and grind a little off the bottom it hit first time when I tightened it all down but guys, it could not be any easier.

So simple even a cave man can do it….. :silly:

Rode it down the drive,, I really like it and can tell its going to be used far more than the thumb lever.

Its got my vote……..:beerchug:
