Hey all. Hoping some of you may have come across this. I have a 2004 sportmans 700 that runs and idles fine. You can open it up and drive like normal. For about 3 to 4 minutes then even at idle it’ll just cut out. Seems to be electrical. The fan will come on and lights will dim then less then a minute the bike and cluster die completely. (Fan still going) when I turn the key back on the cluster will not show anything until it sits for a minute or so. Then the everything works as it should again for 3 minutes or so. Any ideas? Here is a link to a video of what’s going on. It was running at idle for about 3 minutes before it quit.
Bought a 2002 Sportsman 500HO from the neighbor who let it sit for over a year under a tree. I bought it cheap and am planning on taking it to my local powersports shop to get it running again. It was parked due to idling issues after a failed carb rebuild by a shade tree mechanic so I am definitely getting the carb rebuilt.
I also want to get all of the fluids changed, new spark plug, belt checked, new air filter, etc.
Just wondering what something like that would cost me at a shop with a very good reputation for being fair and competent.
I only paid $800 for it and was hoping a complete service and carb rebuild would be under $500.
Have read about swapping the foreman 500 rear swing arm and driveshaft out with a 450 to gain 2-3 inches in length. Can I swap this out on a rubicon and gain the same length?
I went out to start the Scrambler up turn the key pulled the break-in it clicked lights work power steering works you can hear the fuel pump working winch work but it only clicks I took the starter off put jumper cables from my car battery to the starter it engages and it will spin the gear, but when connected to the 4-wheeler only clicks. I hooked the starter back on left it out to watch it, grounded it out it will engage it will not spin the gear what is wrong? Hopefully that makes sense and somebody can give me some information.

Got a brand new set of XT-P piggyback shocks on my 2013 1000XT to replace my 4 year old Renegade XXC shocks that were on it.
The front shocks seem to make a muffled popping noise when going through slow terrain—usually on the down stroke.
I’ve tried messing with the rebound and slow compression, but nothing seems to stop it.
It was fine before replacing the shocks.
To add to that, my brand new Elka shocks on my Honda also do, and the fox shocks on my SXS.
I had the non-reservoir fox shocks on another machine, and they were making a pretty good thud on down stroke…sent them out and were determined to be bad.
