Why Lie , Just to sound better???

Why does can am advertise that the 1000 xmr from 2016 comes with 30 inch tires when that is not true? The diamondbacks say 30 but they are only 28’s
I am looking at my rear tire to footwell gap and I don’t think a true 30 would even fit without rubbing.
What brought the whole (not a 30 ) to my attention is my son put some tires on his atv that say 28 on them and parked it beside my xmr and when you stand back and look it is crazy. My tires are only 1/4 inch taller And no my tires aren’t worn out. I only have 53 hrs on them. All in sand and mud or on grass. I do not run them on pavement at all

I guess my question besides why ? Would be will a true 30 fit ???

Heated grips

Hey all, i ended up trying to install some new heated grips on my bike last night and have run into some frustration. After cleaning the bars off and lubing the grip and bar with WD 40, the grip went on halfway and then stopped and locked on. Couldn’t move it. Ended up having to hook the wires up and turn the grip on full and got the grip to finally come off. Just hoping someone could toss an idea up there to make it possibly a touch easier. Thanks all.

2008 Honda 420 Rancher PCM/ECM

Hello everyone I am new to this forum.

I have a 2008 Honda Rancher 420 ES. I was having problems with the electric shifting so I had a friend change it into a manual shift with parts from a 2009 420. Now the bike won’t start. Had no fire and fuel pump was not coming on. The fuel pump has been changed with a new one. I was told it could be the PCM/ECM because of the no fire and no fuel. I put the PCM/ECM from the 2009 manual shift bike on my bike and it now has fire and the fuel pump is working. The bike still won’t start. The part numbers on the brains were different. Could the one I have on it now from the 2009 be making the bike fire at the wrong time. We also checked compression, valves, and made sure the bike was in time.

Can-am owner thinking of jumping ship. Need advice.

So I have always had can-ams. I currently ride a 2013 2 seater commander 1000 in Alabama. Slow trail riding and rocks some mud. I also go to Windrock every year. My 2 seater commander beats me to death and bucks so I am over it.
Overwhelmingly I am told a 4 seater 2014, 2015, or 2016 polaris 1000 xp will ride like I am on cotton and clouds as far as the suspension goes when it comes to rocky and rutted trails. It is just me and my wife, so we don’t need 4 seats, but if it rides better, sucks up rough terrain, and goes over rocks and hills better, then I want a 4 seater.I can’t get past all the problems polaris rzr 1000 4 seater owners have with the bikes. Not sure if I should ditch the 4 seater idea and just buy a can-am x3 right now. Should I wait for an x3 4 seater to show up? So confused.
Thanks for anyone that can give me some good advice. I am lost.

Hard to shift + oil pressure install

Is it normal for a Scrambler for gear shifter to be hard? It is quite hard to shift between gears, i have also noticed it on the demo unit i have driven

Since i opened a new topic, i will also write some random rant. I just finished my 1st service myself and after studying the engine, i could not believe they have not put a oil pressure sender on it. If for some reason you loose oil or oil pump fail there will be no light to tell you before your engine is destroyed.

After studying the oil pressures on Scrambler and thread i have noticed a Ford Transit oil pressure switch is an excellent drop-in, 1t is a 1/8-27 NPTF, low oil alarm at 0.6 BAR. And it costs just like 3.5 $, and quite simple to wire up (just 1 wire needed)

I will install this weekend and share if there is interest 🙂
