So my son crashed his 96 scrambler 400 4×4. The right front control arm, balljoint c-v shaft, steering tube, brake handle.., bars, ect ect were smoked. my question is are there other 400 cc 4×4 2 strokes that Polaris made that the parts will fit from? Reason I asked is guy advertised that he had a complete, but tore down scrambler but when I got there I could tell it wasn’t. The engine case had a 97 MFD on it. it has a roller chasis, the tires are bigger ect. The plastics, although painted were red. Has all the lookings of a sportsman, magnum or another utility type.
I wasnt sure if the front end etc would potentially fit the frame of my scrambler ? any help or advice would be much appreciated.
i just picked up a predator that had engine removed and they pulled the wiring harness aswell if anyone could get me some pics of the harness installed it would be great they pull cdi and regulators aswell so any help on where those mount aswell would be greatly appreciated
Just did a top end on a 2000 Xplorer 250. I premixed the first gallon so I could check the oil pump. At idle it fills the tube and drips very very slowly. When I rev it up and hold the lever open the oil runs out very slowly. I checked, and it does make pressure when I hold the lever up, but it doesn’t really seem to at idle. Do you guys think my pump is OK? Also, what years used the plastic pump gear? Thanks for your help, Dave

Purchaed a 1994 sportsman 400 4×4 2 weeks ago. I am doing the maintenance on it and for some reason no matter what i did, when i gave it gas it wanted to die. So i took the top cover off the throttle control, and there is a little switch in there. When i press the thumb throttle, it causes that switch to make contact and the engine dies. If i prevent thecontacts from touching it revs great. So i disconnected the black wire from the limiter on the circuit board and now it revs fine even when that switch makes contact. So my question is, is there some issue with having that black wire disconnected, or would it be fine to leave it disconnected?
I believe I have located my age old problem on my 2001 Traxter 500; surging when matted, constant starting problems, and starvation for fuel. The issue I believe is the fuel filters, and I detached the fuel line and can’t figure out what to use to get into that hole where the filter is. Any tool or technique recommended?
I just got a 2005 Polaris predator 500 for cheep. I know it was not in working condition.
I got it home and it won’t start.. It cranks over but no start.. I used starting flued and it shot flames out of the carb.
I check timing . I set it to what every one has used on these forms online.
Dose any one have a manual or any pics of what it looks like when the timing is set. Marks and the can lobes ..
Just bought a 96 magnum…hasnt ran in a year or so…put new battery, changed gas,new plug & new air filter but wont stay started and front of exaust is glowing red when ran for a bit…what else should i look at
So after basically letting my quad sit for 2 months (the wife took it for a few short trips down the road and back for me in that time period.) I came back and took it for a ride. The 4wd was engaged even though the button wasn’t depressed. I engaged and disengaged the button, and the icon disappeared from the HUD. It came back on about 20 sec later and then went off again. It did this a few more times. Has anyone experienced this before?
