Though I would introduce myself and at the same time get some input. I am from El Chuco, Texas so we have bast land to ride and been thinking about getting me a side-by-side. Never own a quad but been riding for a while. Would like to get the family involved and thought about getting a RZR. Now, in all honesty, 14k is expensive but like everything, it will be an investment for the future. I will not lie, but I was looking at the cheapo Chinese model and found a Benchee at my local dealer and they are willing to let it go go 3k. After doing some research, I found out that, like any chinese made stuff, they come with problems. Now, I am not saying that any of the other brands (polaris, canam, kawasaki, etc) aren’t perfect but at least you have the warranty as a backup. I am getting close to the questions, I promise :nana:
Now, right now they have the 1.99 for 60 months. I called Shefield Financing and they told me that in order to get that special financing, you must have 700+ credit score. Is it true? Has anybody, recently, dealt with them? How are they support, etc? I ask because I have the Capital One CC for Kawasaki and they aren’t that bad.
Ok, now for the most important question. I am looking to do trail and dunes: which model would be best? I’ve ridden in a SXS one time but never drove it. Would it be better to get it one with the EPS or without? Now, I would like to save as much money as a can and get the parts myself (I am mechanically inclined) and install them myself. Looking at a two seater rzr. Now, how much can I haggle with my local dealer?? I only have 1 dealer locally but can always go out of state (NM) or to other neighbor cities.
I recently got me an f150 and I am itching to go 4×4. Been looking at used quads but the prices are ridiculous (4k+) Might as well spend a little more money and get something new.
Thanks for your help and appreciate the time you took to read my post.
Hello, I have a friend traded in a early 2000 Rancher 4WD 350 Rancher and he removed a 2" lift kit he had on it. Do you think it would work on my 420 2 WD?
I have 25" ITP Mudlites and went to a mud park and did ok, but I want to lift and run Outbacks (not sure if 25 or 27") in rear and stock MAXXIS upfront with small lift, snorkel. Thanks guys :hail:
I have a 2007 Polaris Trail Boss 330
When I turn the ignition key I get nothing except a brief flash if I turn the headlights on, the head lights will not stay on either.
I have replaced the battery, solenoid and the starter switch with Polaris replacement parts.
I can get the starter to turn over by shorting across the nuts on the solenoid but it will not start the engine.
The gear shift is in neutral and the battery is fully charged. All the wiring seems to be connected.
So I have now had my first issue aside from the axle shaft that I lost last year. went to load up last Thursday night and I get "transmission communication failure" this is a 2013 outlander max XTP. I cleaned all the connectors and even put a charger on the battery just to make certain it wasn’t weak. just get that message with an "e" where the gear position would be displayed.
Has anyone had this issue and was it the Angle rotation sensor? is there a way to test the sensor with a meter?
This Griz has always started whiz-bang. Started and drove it about a mile yesterday, shut off for 10 minutes, and then got only a "buzz" from under the seat when trying to re-start. Took a look. The buzzing component is the small cushioned box – looks like some sort of relay with the three-pronged plug on top and the pos and neg batt leads on front. Searched and read all I could find on this site.
Batt is putting out 13.8 volts. I have rocked the Griz in gear to try to insure that the starter is not engaged/locked and have given the starter some firm "raps" with a light hammer. No change.
Is this the way that relay normally fails – instantly?? Any suggested fixes other than replacement? Are the "oem replacements" on the internet ($7 or $8) worth using – and are there preferences among those? If going for original Yamaha parts, is there a preferred online source.
First timer here. Bought a used Honda 2015 SXS 700 M2 Pioneer (first ATV/UTV). Will be used for a deer lease in south Alabama. Some dumb newb questions:
1. I want to purchase insurance, but I’ve got no idea where to start. My auto company doesn’t insure ATV but has a flow through deal with Progressive. I’d like to insure the Pioneer against theft (seems to be a real problem around here) and occupants against injury (liability), plus it would be nice to have some coverage if I have an accident while towing the thing. If I wreck it while riding in the woods I’ll eat that. What companies have the forum users found to provide the most competitive product, and do I need more than I’ve described?
2. This machine has 21 hours and 105 miles. What type of maintenance should I expect beyond the 20/100 hour maintenance intervals. This thing will not be going in water and be used for light trail riding/hunting/food plot hauling only. It’ll get dirty, but unless my 17 year old gets out of my sight never abused.
It’s time to rebuild the swing arm (bushing, bearings, etc…). Nothing too sever but have a little play. So while at it, will be replacing the drive system.
Will there be an issue to replace the rear 36 tooth sprocket to a 38 and keeping the drive sprocket at 13 tooth? I’ve read it should give more at the low end which is what I want. Just doulble checking from the you seasoned guys.
