I pulled my 200e engine and removed the top end because it was smoking. Discovered bad oil ring. Had 145 lbs. compression before tear down. Any suggestions where to find a 200x top end also any other advice to wake this engine up would greatly be appreciated.
I know this is beating a dead horse, but I have a 98 500 scrambler that is backfiring very LOUD through the exhaust, and shooting a 2 foot flame through the carb when attempting to start. I have scoured the forums on this and below is a list of what I have checked, done.
Compression is 110 psi.
keyway is NOT sheared
cam timing is correct
good strong spark
lots of fuel, too much fuel almost
I have pulled the flywheel 2 times to double check the keyway
Exhaust valves are traveling full stroke and the lobe is perfect
I don’t know what I am missing. This seems like EVERY other 500 problem I have found on line yet everything I find here I have checked. Any idea what I am missing??

Ive had my HL for 6 months now and so far the plastic on the right side that directly comes in contact with the exhaust has melted a hole in it (great design Polaris) and the heat shield that wraps my CVT exhaust started to come off because the exhaust runs right next to it. Rewrapped it and am going to Busco Beach NC this weekend so ill see how it holds up.

My reverse override has switched around where it limits my movement while in forward gear. Is there and known problem with this? It goes in reverse with full power. Is there a sensor that might need replacing?
Need a clean looking and durable front bumper for the Sportsman 570. My fiance keeps running into trees when we are on the trails and need a little protection for her bike.
Is the ATV Guru the way to go? I don’t want expanded metal, just bars that follow the lines of the bike. How easy does it install?
Just completed doing some work on the bike I purchased and still waiting on a coolant pump but firing it up just for less then a minute I notice a very noticeable ticking noise, its not a knock. I did the clutch washer to tighten the bolts so now I’m wondering about the actually motor. I’m new to this brand and curious how reliable these 800 engines are ? is it possible it something worse then maybe valves ? what everyone thoughts ? I could post a video if I figure out how.
I’ve been looking through the schematic for my Grizzly checking the wiring (starting side). It appears like the brake switch doesn’t match the schematic. The wires are not the same color, and it is not tied to ground on one side and there is no continuity to the gear switch. The schematic seems very accurate everywhere else. Has anyone ever encountered this. I’m sure that I’m looking at the right switch. It is right off the foot brake and the hand brake toggles it also. I’ve been looking for any mods to the schematic and haven’t found any.
Heading out to Deadwood for an extended 4th of July weekend. I took my 500 out a couple years back and found some decent trails in the area, and my buddies and I are considering bringing a few RZRs and quads this time around as well. Does anybody have any good suggestions for riding in the Deadwood area? Last time was a challenge finding decent trails and making sure we were staying off of private property. I’ll be staying at The Lodge right outside of Deadwood. I know they have snowmobile trails right off the lodge, do they double as ATV trails in the summer?
my 2002 500 sportsman will throw me through the windshield (if I had one) when letting off the throttle. I do not trail ride much and if I do it is not very hilly. I ride some roads. I am guessing the EBS system is over doing the braking. Is there an adjustment for amount of braking? Is this system able to be turned off? Ok to remove it?
