2001 air issue

Hi, new to the forum, looking for some help with my Trail Boss.
I purchased two 2001 Trail Boss from a guy that had them in storage for about 3 years. He kept them in good shape, fogging them and turning them over. My problem is one of them will not take throttle, it starts to bog out at about half throttle. The only difference between them is one is a post 12/11/00 and the other is pre 12/11/00. The only thing that sticks out to me is the air box style. The post ATV has a smaller K&N filter, and air intake . I have swapped everything between the two and it seems to come down to the air box. If I put the pre12/11/00 air box on either one it runs fine. If I put the post on it, I need to take the cover off for the thing to run well. I am at a loss. Not ready to drop a hundred bucks on a pre 12/11/00 air box and filter if I can help it.
Any help at all would be appreciated.
Thanks
Mike

2007 Sportsman 500 EFI starting problem

Guys,

My 2007 Sportsman 500 EFI has developed a starting problem. Began as a failure to spin the starter with an old battery. Can hear the fuel pump charge, then the click of the starter solenoid when the key is turned more. Would start a couple of times then not. Let it sit for a day or two and the same would be true.

Did start with the recoil starter.

Replaced the battery which tested bad with a lithium ion unit and it started immediately. Now is doing that again. Battery voltage was 13.24. Is climbing very slowly with the correct battery tender.

What should the charging voltage be?

Is it likely that the starter assembly is the culprit?

Thanks,

Mike

1996 Polaris 500 Sportsman Carb Issues

Been reading the forms and some great tips on maintenance. I have been having problems with my 500 and gas leaking out of the carb overflow tube. I want to clean the carb and fix the leaking gas. Started the project today and ran into some issues.

1. How do you remove the throttle cables on the carb? Everything else is off and need to get these cables off.

2. Where is the plastic seal that is causing the overflow gas leak? I have no rubber seal when I pulled the cover off. Only a set screw that is cranked all the way in.

3. Is this normal – took pictures of how the carb looks now. Should the covers not be closed?

Anything to help as the leaking is a daily issue.

Sportsman L&R Rear Cargo Box #2875176

Can anyone confirm if this box will fit my 2015 Sportsman 850 SP?? Polaris says no but I found a youtube video showing it fitting a 850sp. I’ve been searching but cant find much info saying it fits on with just the lock and ride without any modifications. Any Help would be appreciated I don’t want to go waste 220 bucks on something that does not fit.

Front brakes stuck.

My 09 renegade sat for about a year while I rebuilt the motor, heads, ect. It was in a climate controlled shop.
The brake light was staying on and I had the message across the screen. So I assumed the switch was junk. Come to find my front tires are hard to turn.
I pushed the pistons back in both calipers, cleaned and lubed the side pins. Everything moves freely it seems. The lever has a ton of pressure on it.
I Going to guess the return is acting up in the master, but was curious if anyone has run into this?
