2015 Polaris 850 Touring Won’t Start

Hello all, new guy here. Last week my buddy rode my new Sportsman and left the key in the on position with the lights on. We didn’t discover it until a couple hours later. When I tried to start the machine there was nothing, not even a click out of the starter. So this week I tried jumping it with another battery but nothing happens. I just checked the voltage on the battery (Odyssey 925L) with a Volt meter and I have 12.5 volts, so something is amiss. I’m wondering if there is some kind of relay that shuts off battery power if the lights are left on like on a car or truck? If so, how do you reset it?

Your help is greatly appreciated, as I’m currently 40 miles from anything here in Ontario.

Thanks!

suspension changes

I have a ’11 outlander XXC and will be taking the wife riding this weekend. i have shocks that are adjustable like the ones on the gade. I want to soften up the ride. I found an old setup doc that talks about this but it seems confusing. The shock has screws marked with H and S. i would think that stands for "hard’ and "soft" but the document has me turning the screw toward H to lessen rebound. can anybody help?

Nedd quick answer to model size question

Last weekend I sat on a newish (2015,2016) Outlander 1100. I was amased how we?l it fit me. At 6’4" that isn’t at all common. So that got me looking at Can Am’s thinking they might offer more room than my current 97 Suzuki king Quad 300 who’s handlebars hit my knee.

So here’s why the quick reply request. I happened upon a 2006 Can Am Outlander 650 2r6c for sale. It is said to be in good shape with 900 miles. Since it is 5 hrs. from me I obviously can’t just go over and sit on it. Now for the big question. Can anyone tell me if this model has as much rider space as the new 1100 I sat on? The owner is 5’9" so he really can’t offer a worthwhile perspective of leg room, etc. I sure don’t want to make that drive to learn it’s too small and the new 1100 is too pricey for what I want.

I have zero Can Am experince so any input on this model, things to watch out for as a buyer, etc. would be appreciated.

2011 x2 550 sportsman brake failure

Good day,
While riding my quad all of a sudden I had no breaks and had to pump the brakes several times to slow down, then on way back to camp my atv started becoming difficult to drive, it felt like there was a component malfunction that was disabling my ability to drive faster than approx 10mph and steering was difficult. Felt like the atv entered some kind of ‘limp mode’. When I got atv home I inspected breaks and only found that the master cylinder was a little low on fluid. No damage to break lines and no leaks that I could see. I am confused with this, any ideas?
Regards
David

I have a new heating cooling question

This past winter I posted about getting a pellet burner for my garage and got a lot of insight.

So here’s my new dilemma.

Our house is around 120 years old or so. It has a boiler, only 10 years old. No ductwork in the house so we use 3 window air units, which I bitch about putting in every summer.

Do any of you have or know someone with a Fujitsu or Mitsubishi Electric mini split system? I am looking at one that will heat and cool. Just wondering about the negatives of these systems. I know that they are pricey. I’m looking at them because ductwork at my place will be an issue. Downstairs won’t be bad, but upstairs will be really tough to get a decent airflow to. I used to work in heating/cooling many years ago and technology has changed a lot since then.
