Just picked up an 08 outlaw 90 for my son. The thing is spotless and the lady I bought from said her daughter only rode it for one summer and it has been sitting. I know her personally and it still has the tits on the rear tires. Got plenty of PS4 on the shelf but the manual says it takes Polaris youth oil? So is there any difference in viscosity between this and the big boy ps4? What does everyone run in theirs? Just don’t want something too thin in there. Also if anyone wants trade a mint set of pink plastics for a blue set let me know. Thing is as close to new as it gets and at the moment he doesn’t care that it is pink its I great upgrade from his 02 sporty. He’s only 5. The reverse gear is getting a work out. He tells me keeps backing up because he can! Thanks guys
I recentley came the the ATV world late in life and under odd circumstances. When my faithful hobby farm lifted golf cart had major engins problems, again, I decided to order a big block clone motor. This conversion was going to take time so I wanted to get something we could use in the meantime to feed, etc. Much as I wanted a UTV the prices put me off. I bought a Suzuki King Quad 300. Downside is I’m 6’4", and it’s tight for me. No big deal since the ATV was a temp. thing right. Well…my son buys a racing quad to ride with my 11 yr. old grandson, who has a Polaris 90 quad and a Yamaga dirt bike. So I learn about a local atv park and we go. There is a newish 1000 cc Can Am ATV for sale near the park office, for way too much money for me, BUT, the size was great for me. This got me interested in the bigger Can Am models. To cut to the chase, I now, as of yesterday, own a 2006 Bomardier (Can Am) 650 Outlander xt.
I just picked up a bike they said ran ruff so I cleaned the car and started it barely. After running it for a while it went puff, smoke came out intake an spark plug is smashed. Just wondering if it is worth rebuilding engine or changing engine completely. I have a 97 foreman 400 was going to fix other bike for my son. Bike is in good shape, just never tore into one that much before. Any hints or good place to find parts or engine would be appreciated.
So I just traded my Bike for a Quad which happens to be a 2008 Polaris sportsman 800 HO EFI. I got it a few weeks ago and have been driving it without issue. The past few rides the Batt light was flashing throughout the ride. Yesterday (Canada Day July 1) I took off for a ride with a bunch of friends. The Batt light was flashing but no power loss. I started getting stuck and noticed that the 4 x 4 stopped working and I was only driving in 2 X 4. I got unstuck a few times using my winch. Finally I got stuck again and then the Winch stopped working. THe Batt light was still flashing and the first time I got it working again by revving the engine. However I was unsuccessful of getting unstuck and the winch stopped working. WHen I Pushed the button to activate the wince the Engine would start to die. Finally not being unstuck and with no winch the Engine died completely. I got a buddy to boost me and got started again. After having the booster cables on for about 10 mins I was able to drive it for a short period. Got stuck again and then the engine died again. I got towed out to the closest road. My buddy boosted me again and we left the cables on for another 10 mins. Got it started and I drove home (Approx 3 kms) without any issues at all. No batt light came on and everything seemed to work (4 X 4 unknown if it worked) I got home and had zero issues with my winch and was able to draw in my cable again. Current trouble shooting issues that I am doing at this point.
– removed Batt and testing it for Charging Issues.
I was told that it’s possible that it could be my actuator but I have no clue what that is or how much something like that would cost or where it’s even located. Does anyone have any other options that it may be? WHat else could be causing these issues?:yel:
went for an awesome ride today with my buddy and his 650xmr.
after a while he wanted to try my 570, so i had no problem with that.
the xmr is a nice ride but i gotta tell ya….mine is faster!!!
i haven’t taken any LSD today or anything but i think its because of the 28 inch mudzillas robbing the power and maybe the weight???
he has a 2014 650xmr dps
am i crazy??? any thoughts??
it wasn’t like his was a slouch by any means but i think it just wasn’t as peppy as mine.

The rack came with 4 nuts that go on the studs where it mounts. The studs are threaded and will not slide through because the holes are threaded where the factory bolts went through.
Okay,
I was riding atv and lost all electrical power.
Battery is new.
now when I turn key switch on, fuel pump powers on. on then off. and keeps cycling every 10-15 seconds. put meter on battery 12.6 volts. put meter on solenoid turned key on and no power out to starter. do I have a bad solenoid?
Thanks in advance for your help
