2015 Scrambler 850 Build Thread

Thought I’d take a minute to show some of the modifications to my quad and drop a few shout outs to some of the vendors that hooked me up with some great deals. Here goes…

Machine:
2015 Scrambler XP 850

Suspension:
Custom Axis Shocks, purchased used, third hand, were originally Rick Cecco’s. Note that this requires the installation of a new upper radiator hose from the unit’s equipped with Fox Shocks. There is an interference issue with the shock reservoir if it isn’t changed.

Wheels/Tires:
Hyper Carbon Fiber Bead Locks (12×6") wrapped in Maxxis Cerros rubber (25×9-12). Purchased used from Team UXC’s Michael Swift.

Brakes:
DP Pads
Ground Down Calipers to fit the 12" Wheels. You really gotta take a lot off.

Chassis:
Cecco Racing Frame Braces – Lower Control Arms, both Front and Rear
Dirtworks Motorsports Frame Braces – Upper Rear Shock Brace, Upper A-Arm Braces
Cecco Racing Footpegs – added 2 pairs for added grip.

Drivetrain:
Super ATV Sprague Carrier
Cecco Racing Billet Pinion Cover on Front Diff
A-Arm/Hub Bushings from John Archer @ Garage Products

Steering/Controls:
Billet Thumb Throttle from Cecco Racing
Moog Upper Stem Bushing to replace the sloppy stock unit
Odi Rogue Lock-On Grips

Protection:
Powermadd Star Series Hand Guards w/ wrap arounds
Iron Baltic Skid Plates from Gone Rogue Powersports
Bumpers, Front/Rear, from Rox Speed FX… the design/fab rights have since been transferred to the "Quad Logic" brand

Winch:
Polaris 2500# Unit – Super Easy to Install!!!

Snowplow:
Polaris Glacier. Easy on/off.

Graphics:
available from Solid Offroad Design

Steering stabilizer/damper for 660?

I’ve heard some people have installed steering dampers with great results.

I ride mostly through rocky trails and the feedback through the front tires can be scary… A steering stabilizer sounds like a great investment.

Does anyone know what brand/model steering stabilizer will fit a 2005 Grizzly 660?

2014 Polaris Scrambler 1000XP

I am UNFORTUNATELY selling My Baby… a low hour 2014 Scrambler 1000 XP. It has always been garage kept and meticulously maintained with Amsoil Fluids. (Engine Oil, Front Diff, Rear Diff, Transfer Case and Transmission) I am ONLY selling it due to personal reasons. It runs perfect!! I have way too many upgrades to list. Short of any motor work, it probably has it. I have almost every stock part too. I am ONLY asking $9900 with EVERYTHING. I have close to $5000 just in aftermarket parts alone!! I am willing to put it back to basically stock and will sell it for a little less also. I am working on pictures. Please contact me for a list of upgrades. I am located in the Columbus, OH area. Serious Inquiries ONLY! Thank you.

We will likely have a bonfire for participants to gather and socialize Saturday night (weather permitting). Small campfires are permissible. Camp quiet time begins at 11pm, we ask that you please be respectful of your neighbors. Please take out what you bring in while camping and riding.
We ask that if you don’t intend on riding, please find another venue to camp. We have many riders coming from far away and we need to accommodate them with enough room to camp and ride.

These trails are awesome. There are lots of elevation changes, mud and some really nice technical sections. The general course layout consists of a large one way loop of approximately 20 miles, with “hero loops” that riders can take for more of a challenge. Riders can make multiple runs if wanted. These are deep wooded trails and logging roads, no coal dust. The trails are usually in pristine condition since this is private property. There is plenty of mud.
Please feel free to pass this information along to other riders/forums. We appreciate all the help we can get.

PM the Tar Hollow crew for more info if needed…We hope to see you there.

I know there is a few ppl looking for the Yamaha grizzly 660 Overfenders 02-08 and there almost impossible to find so i thought i’d post this to help someone out that may be looking for a set. I went to my local Yamaha dealer today in which they said there discontinued so they checked the old warehouse and luckily found 3 sets still in original box. $155 CDN is what i paid for the set which is a steel of a price IMO, if interested in the dealer info shoot me a private Msg !!

TRX300 Color combos..

Time to pick out some paint for the frame and front control arms..

Got some hammertone stuff I used on a roll cage left..looks like gray hammertone powdercoating, and it’s pretty tough. Also, it covers very well..

Also got the gloss black stuff (already painted swingarm and some other small parts), looks close to factory colors.

And, as a kid growing up in the ’80s, I loved it when Honda did the red and blue on bikes starting in ’85 (?), especially the red white and blue honda wing.

Was thinking about doing racks silver..possibly a-arms silver..plastic is red and still decent-it wont get painted. Seat cover is black, but probably going to change it too..

Let’s see some of the color combos you guys have done on TRX300’s!!
