ZILLAS Question

After searching the forums for months considering which tire would be best for my riding conditions (70%trail, 30%water/mud holes) and milage (less than 500 mi per year) I finally decided on the Zillas in either 27s or 28s. Found the best priced seller on ebay and called to order them.
Now the salesman throws his pitch. You really don’t want zillas. They’re too soft, too thin. Everyone gets punctures with them, won’t hold a bead, weak sidewall, etc. They all regret it and get MST Outlaws afterwards. Which of course he then tries to sell me. I held off telling him I’ll do some homework over the weekend. After hours of searching forums I cannot seem to validate his claim? However most Zilla reviews were only after 250 or so miles.
So to those who have them or ride with others that do what are your thoughts? I also cannot find a whole lot of reviews on the MST’s and most of what I did find is from years past? Maybe they’re old tires the seller has been sitting on wanting to clearance out?
An after thought I’ve now had is possibly buying from a vendor on here now since this has been my primary go to site for years. Looking to wrap these on 12" ITP Hurricanes or 14"MSA Diesels or Elixer depending on $$. Let me know your thoughts and experiences! Planning to buy next week! Thanks
