XP1 Alba Motor Build

First off, I have to thank Nate for his expertise and advice. He describe multiple choices to me from my initial stage 2 build questions to turbo options, and everything in between. He ask me for my priorities and what I expected to receive. A little unsure on my part made this decision complicated and second guessing myself. Pros and cons from reliability, cost, maintenance, service, watching gauges while driving, and being able to cruz around all went into the process. I am not a big dunner, but I am only a hour from Pismo. I ride forest roads and like open desert. The car also needed to be reliable to drive around on asphalt roads in a private community. Maybe with more time at Pismo, Glamis is in the future. Another decision to deal with paddles.
After visiting his shop, seeing other customer builds, Alba’s own cars, and listing to members positive feedback I made up my mind for Alba to work on the RZR. The XP is now at Alba’s shop, the motor is being removed and parts are being ordered. I decided on a N.A. 1102c.c. BBK with all the goodies.
This is similar to Nate’s personal RZR. Carrillo rods, CP pistons, porting, Alba re-flash, fuel management, chain tensioner, Alba clutch kit, belt gauge, HD stud kit, Web cams, Beehive valve spring kit and more. The best part in my mind is having a first class shop doing the install.
I know this is not a Z1 swap or built turbo, as I was not looking for the fastest car. But it should be a big difference.
Nate will keep us posted on the progress and post dyno results.
