Had to pull the entire differential out with the other axle still in place. this was not fun to get out of the frame. The pinion gear is still froze to the driveshaft so I had to remove the pinion gear from the differential
Welded a couple of ears onto the cv joint so it would extend past the width of the jack so I could attach some steel rods to to get over the top of the jack. I actually broke one side off of this in the first attempt to pull the joint and had to add some gussets you can see in the last image.
Built a platform out of 2" x 1/2" flat bar with a couple of legs to stand the jack on leaving enough room under it to pull the joint.
Here is the top part of the puller and rods that go down to the joint and got welded up to the ears sticking out from the joint.
And finally the extracted joint. It took three tries in all to get the joint out with a 3′ pipe as a jack handle and 195 lbs of body weight using everything I had to make the jack go. I about gave up and gave it one more push of the handle and it popped. I initially thought another weld broke, but upon inspection the joint finally let go. The jack had oil coming out of every seal when it was all said and done.. You can actually see the shininess of the oil on the base in the last image..
