Worried about my new quad!

So today riding in WV with a friend. His yamaha got water and mud in the belt housing….long story short after him trying to take the housing off and clean and dry out the belt. He pulled the plug…yada yada yada…couldnt get it running. So its time for me to tow him out….while doing so i went through what seemed to be a small mud pit…i slowly started to sink lower and lower while towing him and got dug up…while cursing and jumping off my quad after realizing i was stuck…i hit the kill switch and i heard a "gurgle" sound…"oh $h!t"…panic set in. My buddy said ah thats just the exhaust taking in water….your air box is up to high…so i started my 2016 outlander L LE up and water came pouring out of everywhere(it seemed) mainly just pumping out of the belt housing. So after a minute of curiosity we rode on back probably 3-4 miles, my quad seemed fine…didnt notice anything? Question is….lol sorry for the story guys. Should i take my quad to my canam dealer and have them look it over? Thanks for any input or advice.
