So I just got my new Superwinch Terra 35 to replace my broken Polaris 2500. I was reading the instructions and checking out my quad (2012 Sportsman 550 XP) to eye up how it will install. It appears the winch will be mounted upside down but then this causes the problem of the line coming in over the spool instead of under the spool. I’ve researched threads on forum, but I’m still a little worried. People say to un-spool and re-spool the opposite direction and then to switch the wires on the solenoid. By doing so, it will correct the handlebar switch for the "in" to actually come in. My concerns are is this true/correct? And, will this cause a problem with the internal brake when under load? And, will the free spool still work correctly? I do realize I can do a 180 degree turn when upside down to eliminate these problems, but currently all wiring is on right side of machine (when sitting on it) and doing a 180 will cause connections to be on left. Thanks for any help!!
